It's not just for live streaming. The 360RIZE Live Streaming Mount for 360Penguin allows you to mount the 360Penguin camera onto various support gear that have a 1/4"-20 mounting screw, such as car mounts. The camera goes on top of the mount and is secured with a thumbscrew from underneath. The all-aluminum construction provides a sturdy alternative to mounting the camera on the mini tripod that's included with it, especially when the camera is in motion such as when mounted on a helmet or moving vehicle, or when you want to mount it on a full-size tripod or similar sturdy support for extended time-lapse capture. Attaching the camera directly to a full-size tripod will block its USB port door on the bottom, and the USB port is required for external power if you plan on shooting for longer than an hour. But the Live Streaming Mount allows you to fully access the door from the bottom.
Although not solely for live streaming, this mount provides a convenient way of setting the 360Penguin up for live streaming, especially long streaming sessions. Just like for time-lapse capture, you can use it to mount the camera on full-size tripods and similar supports while getting full access to the USB port and having sturdy support thanks to the all-aluminum construction.
