Product description The stereo, all-tube MP-2A from A-Designs is a dual-channel audiophile-quality microphone preamplifier that is designed to be versatile and sonically flexible. The preamp will work with any ribbon, condenser, or dynamic microphone, as well as instruments such as guitars, bass, and keyboards via the DI input. The MP-2A uses no integrated circuits and relies solely on discrete components such as EF86 input tubes, 6N1-P output tubes, Audience capacitors, custom-wound Cinemag output transformers, and hand-crafted point-to-point wiring.
Each channel provides up to 60 dB of clean, low-noise gain, a -20 dB pad, and two Tone switches that provide four distinctive possible sonic signatures. Additional features include Neutrik XLR connectors, true VU metering, 48V phantom power, polarity reverse switches, and front panel Hi-Z input jacks. The preamp's fixed-gain amplifier/output attenuator topology provides a wide "sweet-spot" for any microphone or instrument and captures material with clarity and transparency. The MP-2A ships with a standard IEC power cord. -
