Product description The Shinybow EP-132 External RS-232 Serial to Ethernet Converter adds Ethernet capability to any Shinybow switcher that has an RS-232 port for the purpose of connecting serial devices to a LAN (Local Area Network) or WAN (Wide Area Network).The EP-132 TCP/IP converter is designed to operate on serial ports over 10 / 100M Ethernet networks. The data is transmitted via TCP / IP protocol. Therefore control is available via Ethernet, Intranet and Internet. This converter comes packaged in a plastic case that is well suited for industrial environments. All the serial ports operate in common RS-232 mode, industrial RS-422 and RS-485 modes configuration.The presence of auto-detect feature allows for a simple and quick installation process. It works with WINXP and WIN2000 and it includes the redirect software that maps any local COM port to an IP address you assign to the device. It works with the ShinyBow routing switcher program. - Allows for data conversion between RS-232/422/485 and Ethernet
- Converts the serial device (RS-232, RS-422, RS-485) data/signal into the TCP/IP packet data/signal and sends them out with the Ethernet data stream or converts the TCP/IP packet data/signal into serial device data/signal
- Web-based setup and dynamic IP configuration
- Supports DHCP client mode, simplifying network address configuration and management
- Features Dual LAN speed and firmware remote update
- Supports 10/100 Mb/s Ethernet, auto-detected
- Server / Client dual modes
- The 8051 Series can be configured as a network server or network client. In the client mode, it can be installed on the network which is protected by the NAT router or firewall, without the need of real IP address
- Parameters setup based on HTTP protocol by using standard browsers (IE and Netscape) for which no special software is required
- Built-in security control
- Features a watch dog function
- Protected setup the password to prevent intruders
- Firmware can be updated directly via Ethernet network to keep up with network standards
