Product description - Acratech Ball-Head Performance
The Nomad Ball Head from Acratech is a lightweight and durable ball head designed to accompany the active outdoor photographer wherever the road or trail may take them. It's unique "open" design and black anodized coating have been specifically engineered to allow dust, dirt, moisture, and debris to pass through or around the mechanism, preventing damage or jamming.
Both the ball and chassis are constructed from durable, yet lightweight aluminum alloy, which allows the head to weigh just 0.9 lb while supporting up to 25 lb. It features a 3-knob control scheme in which one knob controls the ball lock, the second controls friction adjustment, and the third knob at the base both locks and unlocks the 360° independent pan.
The head's top clamp features a simple twist-knob design for locking an Arca-type compatible quick release plate in place, and also utilizes a brass restraining pin for extra safety. A single bubble level has also been integrated into the top clamp to assist the user in properly leveling their camera when in the horizontal position. Additionally, a 90° vertical notch has been placed in the side of the chassis to allow users to place their camera in vertical orientation when required.
