Product description Designed to provide 100W of amplification through its 2x8" twin-cone mono speaker system, the Domino 2A from AER is a four-channel amplifier geared toward acoustic guitarist craving volume, power, and connectivity options. It is suitable for singer/songwriters, providing independent tone sections for your guitar and your voice. It's also useful for songwriters who utilize playback tracks, since it has channel space and control options for multiple points of audio. The front panel allows you a conventional 1/4" instrument input for channel one, while channel two utilizes a combination jack, and thus, allows for both XLR and 1/4" connections. Channel one provides gain, bass, middle, and treble controls, as well as a mute button and an input sensitivity switch. The Colour button activates a tone-shaping filter. Over in channel two you'll find gain, mute, bass, treble, and color controls, as well as a selector that allows you to choose between mic and line inputs. Channels three and four share bass, middle, treble, and effect-send controls, though there are independent gains: one for a combination XLR / 1/4" jack, and one for an 1/4" instrument input. - On-Board Effects
- A comprehensive effects section allows you to access 16 effects broken down into three categories: reverb, delay, and chorus. You can blend the amount of effect into your signal with the return knob.
- Effects Loop
- Should you wish to utilize outboard gear, you can do so through an effects loop. You can blend the amount of external effect with the effect 2 return knob. If the return jack is already occupied, you can also patch in through the RCA auxiliary inputs, and then use the aux knob to control the amount of return.
- Phantom Power
- This amplifier provides phantom power for condenser microphones on channel 2, though this feature can be disabled by means of an internal jumper. Conversely, phantom power can also be instantiated, through an internal jumper, on channel one.
- Clip Indicators
- Clip indicators on four channels let you know when you're playing too loud for the amplifier.
- Rear Panel Connectivity
- Turn your attention to the rear panel and you'll note a bevy of connection points—no fewer than 16, in fact. Within this panoply, you'll find connections for headphones, stereo 1/4" outs for use with other amplifiers or PA systems, RCA auxiliary inputs, RCA outputs for recording signal, a tuner output, three footswitch outputs, and an effects loop. Lastly, an XLR output allows you to feed a DI to a mixer, interface, or PA system.
- 3 Footswitch Inputs
- 3 stereo 1/4" footswitch inputs are available: two for muting channels, and one for turning effects on and off.
- Stereo Simulation Button
- When both the L- and R-out jacks are in use, you can engage this button to create an instantly wider, stereophonic sound. Note that the signal coming out of the amp itself will remain unchanged.
