Product description - Aleratec 1:5 HDD Copy Dock Advanced Duplicator with Sanitization
The 1:5 HDD Copy Dock Advanced from Aleratec provides users with the power of a full-sized tower duplicator in a smaller and more portable package. This stand-alone duplicator supports both 2.5" and 3.5" SATA hard drives and solid state drives. It can simultaneously produce up to five drive clones without needing to be connected to a computer.
Aside from functioning as a duplicator, it is also able to function as a drive sanitizer and docking station and can access up to five disk drives at a time with an eSATA or USB 3.0 connection to a computer. Additionally, users may also copy from larger hard drives to smaller hard drives (up to four partitions). For example, this function may be used if users want to copy data from a high-capacity hard disk drive to a lower-capacity solid state drive. However, please bear in mind that the combined partition size must be smaller than the target drive capacity, so it may be necessary to shrink existing partitions.
Using separately sold adapters, this device is also able to support mSATA SSDs, CFast Cards, and M.2 NGFF SSDs. The 1:5 HDD Copy Dock Advanced includes a power cord and operates using 100-240 VAC at 50/60 Hz. It also includes a limited 1-year warranty. - Cloning HDDs with the 1:5 HDD Copy Dock Advanced
- Duplicating multiple hard disk drives is fast and efficient with instant connect hard disk drive bays that allow quick connection and removal. Individual power buttons let users choose which drives to copy or access, while front-panel buttons and an LCD display control functions and monitor the progress of each job. Aleratec's 1:5 HDD Copy Dock Advanced creates sector-by-sector copies that include boot sector and partition information so clones and backups are a 1:1 match
- Sanitization Functions
- The 1:5 HDD Copy Dock Advanced also includes sanitization functions for erasing data from up to five hard disk drives at a time. Depending on your security requirements, choose from 1-Pass, 3-Pass, or 7-Pass Overwrite functions. Hard drives sanitized by Aleratec's 7-pass wipe have been verified as meeting NIST 800-88 standards for sanitization

- If your company reassigns, recycles, or retires hard disk drives from use, the drive should be wiped clean of data thoroughly. Why? The answer is because confidential documents, financial data, passwords, and other sensitive information can easily be recovered with common software programs. Overwrite techniques, such 1-Pass, 3-Pass, or DoD 7-Pass write meaningless data over every sector of the hard drive and help protect your organization from data breaches
- Docking Station
- In addition to serving as a hard disk drive duplicator and sanitizer, the 1:5 HDD Copy Dock Advanced can be connected to a computer with the included eSATA or USB 3.0 cable. This allows it to function as a hard drive docking station for access to your 2.5" or 3.5" SATA hard drives. Aleratec's 1:5 HDD Copy Dock Advanced is also compatible with CFast memory, mSATA SSDs, and M.2 NGFF SSDs through to use of separately sold adapters
- Cloning Partitions of Different Sizes
- In a case where the source hard drive is 500GB and the target drives are 250GB, the user will have to adjust the source drive partition size to 250GB or smaller prior to putting in the duplicator for duplication. There are utilities in both Mac OS (Disk Utility) and Windows OS (Disk Management) as well as third party utilities to adjust partition size(s) of the source hard drive.
