Product description The Alphatron Broadcast Electronics 4 x 4 Matte Box for 15mm Rods clamps the 4 x 4 matte box to your LWS 15mm rod support system. The rod support is vertically adjustable, allowing you to adjust the matte box for non-standard lens heights. The matte box features two filter stages, one that is fixed, and one that is fully rotatable. The matte box features small thumbscrews that lock the filter tray into the stage, useful for setting the vertical position for grad filters.
The matte box includes a removable eyebrow (top flag) that attaches to a lockable hinge, which allows you to set the position of the flag and lock it in place. It also incorporates adjustable internal top and bottom flags, which can be used to protect your lens from flare. A side flag kit is available to provide additional flare protection. The matte box includes a removable 114mm stretchy fabric donut that blocks light leaks from behind the matte box that can flare your image when you use lenses with a smaller barrel diameter than 114mm. You can unscrew the rod support from the matte box, which converts the matte box to a clip-on matte box. A side flag kit is available to provide additional flare protection. Available step down adapter rings allow you to use this matte box with select lenses that are smaller than 114mm. - Two filter stages with filter locks for setting filter height. One rotating filter stage allows you to adjust the filter, which is useful when working with graduated or polarizing filters.
- The built-in eyebrows are adjustable, allowing you to control glare, flare, and reflections without using external flags, keeping the matte box small and compact.
- The included removable top flag attaches to the top of the matte box via the lockable hinge that allows you to precisely set the position of the flag, and lock it so that it does not move during the shot.
- Please note that the flexible fabric donut is for use when the matte box is used with support rods only. When used as a clip-on matte box, remember to remove the flexible fabric donut, and use available step down adapter rings. Clip-on matte boxes work best with lenses that feature an internal focus mechanism, so that the front of the lens does not rotate as the lens is focused. Most modern prime and zoom lenses feature this construction.
