Product description Ideal for wide-field astrophotography applications using a DSLR and lens, the Alpine Astronomical Baader 2" Filter Holder for DSLR Camera Lens allows you to mount a standard 2" astronomical eyepiece filter onto the front of your lens.Using this system eliminates the need to acquire duplicate filters in your lens size and allows the use of specialized telescope filters that are unavailable in camera lens filter sizes. The holder has standard internal M48 2" filter threads and external M54 threads on the other side to attach optional Hyperion DT-rings that come in an array of sizes to fit popular lens filter thread sizes from 28mm up to 82mm. Beyond astrophotography—since many eyepiece filters selectively block or pass specific wavelengths of light—this system can be used to capture unique photographs of flora, fauna, and fish, or for forensic imaging purposes. This is the 2" eyepiece holder only; it requires an optional Hyperion DT-ring to properly attach it to your camera lens filter threads. Larger lenses may require the addition of step-up rings for a proper and secure fit.
