Product description Capable of holding an impressive 13 pounds (6kg) of gear, the Alpine Astronomical Baader Diamond Steeltrack 2" Crayford Focuser is an ideal upgrade for your Newtonian reflector to improve precision and increase payload capacity over the stock focuser.Unlike conventional rack-and-pinion focusers, Crayfords utilize a tension rod to move the drawtube forward and back. This eliminates the settling and backlash that tend to occur on geared focusers, enabling a level of precision that rack-and-pinion systems cannot. The large drawtube resists twisting and flexing under heavy loads so even the biggest eyepieces and gear remain optically centered for improved views and images. In addition to this already impressive performance is a coarse and fine 10:1 dual focusing mechanism with 40mm of drawtube travel, a zero-shift focus lock to prevent the focus from slipping, and a focusing scale on the tube for precise focus repeatability. Threads on the eyepiece side enable the direct connection of various accessories such as diagonals and Click-Lock holders, plus T-mount adapters and rings.
