Reveals Solar Features
• • Shows surface granulation, and sunspot detail including penumbra (the less dark outer part of a sunspot, surrounding the dark core)
  • Broad-band white-light filter that does not selectively filter any of the visual wavelengths
  • Permits the use of additional eyepiece filters to selectively study any bands desired, without the compounding effects of a pre-filter

Removeable Baader Solar Continuum Filter
• • Transmits in the 540nm spectral region
  • Enhances the visibility of solar granulation and sunspot details
  • No emission and absorption lines
  • Boosts contrast and reduces the effects of atmospheric turbulence
  • Works in all types of telescopes, for both visual observation and imaging
  • On SCTs and achromatic refractors it completely excludes the red and blue wavelengths, centering on the peak visual wavelengths where the telescope optics are sharpest and free from chromatic aberration
  • For digital imaging, the use of an UV/IR cut filter is recommended to completely cut the defocused infrared wavelengths
  • The Solar Continuum filter must be used in conjunction with a primary solar filter such as the Baader Herschel Wedge Prism or permanent eye and equipment damage will result
  • May be removed from the Herschel prism by the user for pure white-light views

  • Die-cast magnesium body also conducts away the heat more efficiently than aluminum
  Built-In Solar Finder
  • • The sun's defocused image can be easily seen projected onto the translucent ceramic backplate, permitting fast and easy aiming
    • Eliminates the need to look directly toward the sun
    Construction Details
    • • Removable 2" nose piece and 2" Baader Clicklock eyepiece clamp
      • Threaded machined magnesium body permits attachment of accessories, and allows for close coupling of cameras and compatible binoviewers
      • Complete closed design prevents tampering, reducing the risk of damage to the system or to the user
      • Hard case with custom-cut foam lining protects prism and accessories during transport and storage
