Product description The AMT S25I Side Mounting Acoustic Bass Microphone System is a handmade, side-clamping system for acoustic bass. The system is intended to clamp onto the side of a bass allowing for quick and easy removal for traveling, or when the microphone is no longer needed. An adjustable clamp allows it to be used with different-sized instruments.
The mic system includes features like D.C.T. (Disconnect Cable Technology) with the ability to connect the Wi5IIC wireless system, creating a beltpack-free wireless system, if desired, and the microphone itself is an electret condenser that has been designed specifically for acoustic bass. The parameters that are problematic for the double bass have been addressed with this mic system. In order to get the most gain before feedback it uses a very tight pattern to give a high rejection to surrounding noise, at the same time reproducing the subtleties of the bass.
As placement is important with an instrument that has a fine finish and varying dimensions, this mic's attachment mechanism is designed to secure it to the bass in different positions, taking only seconds to attach. It is a portable mic system that can be positioned where the player wants. The clamping mechanism is fitted with natural soft suede so as not to mark or mar the instrument.
The mic system is manufactured using lightweight aluminum to keep the mass low, yet strong. It will remain durable through many years of use. The flex arm is easy to position, while retaining its placement throughout the performance. The mic system comes with the inline preamp, case, and AMT disconnecting cable. The inline preamp is a small ‘plug in’ style power source preamp that can rest on the ground, on a music stand, or in your pocket. It uses an XLR output and phantom power is required.
