Product description - Meet the Goliath | Antelope Audio
- Goliath ThunderboltTM, USB and MADI Audio Interface with 16 Mic Pres
- Getting Started with Goliath | Antelope Audio
With 16 Class-A mic pres, extensive analog & digital connectivity and an array of integrated hardware-based FPGA effects, the Goliath Thunderbolt, USB & MADI Audio Interface from Antelope is designed to function as the hub of your studio or live recording setup.Antelope's Thunderbolt custom circuit allows for 64 channels of conversion or 32 channels via high-speed USB 2.0 (for Windows users who do not have Thunderbolt capabilities), with zero latency in either configuration. Channels can be routed to a large selection of I/O options, including MADI, AES/EBU, ADAT, and S/PDIF. The signature Acoustically Focused Clocking (AFC) fourth-generation algorithm delivers precise clocking for low jitter, resulting in a natural and detailed sound. BNC connectors provide word clock I/Os.The FPGA-based DSP engine enables you to process four zero-latency mixers with custom effects, opening up a variety of creative options such as monitor-mixing with reverb, tracking through modeled EQ & compression and routing to external gear, in near real-time. Using the four front-panel DI's, guitar players can take advantage of Overloud Audio Tools' suite of pre-loaded vintage amps and cabinet simulations and, with Antelope's RealModel technology that allows for stacks of effects to be chained, play live through the chain without feeling any lag. Musicians will also appreciate the ability to route recorded guitars and other audio through the two re-amp outputs to external pedals and instrument processors. All functions on the unit can be accessed from an intuitive high-resolution touchscreen control display, or from a smartphone or tablet via the iOS and Android apps. All features are also accessible from multiple computers in the same network. Conveniently located on the front panel are two headphone outs, a mute button, a mono button and a talkback button. - Extensive Connectivity
-
- 64 channels via Thunderbolt can be routed to a vast selection of digital and analog I/O options, including MADI, AES/EBU, ADAT, USB and S/PDIF
- Goliath offers 36 analog inputs and 32 analog outputs with AD/DA converters. These include 4 instrument DI’s, 2 re-amp outs (with transformer), 2 headphone outs with integrated talkback on the front, 16 channels of mic preamps, 2 sets of stereo inserts, and a pair of mastering-grade monitor outs on the back
- D-SUB 25 connectors provide 24 outputs (1-8 can be level-controlled for surround sound mixing) and 16 additional line inputs, making Goliath an attractive solution for hardware inserts and summing
- For an additional 64 channels of simultaneous analog I/O, connect to Antelope’s Orion 32 or Orion 32+ via MADI
- Class-A Microphone Preamplifiers
-
- The Goliath provides 16 channels of class-A microphone preamps. The XLR combos accept line inputs and instruments with hi-Z impedance (first four inputs only)
- Acoustically Focused Clocking
-
- Precise clocking with 64-bit acoustically-focused clocking (AFC) fourth-generation Antelope audio jitter-management technology and oven-controlled crystal oscillator
- Goliath can be used as a master clock for two other units via two word clock outs, and can be synched to Antelope's 10MX rubidium atomic clock for optimum sound accuracy
- Zero Latency
-
- Combining Antelope's custom Thunderbolt circuit and the FPGA-based DSP engine, the Goliath can process four independent mixers and their custom audio effects, with zero latency
- Signal can also be routed to external hardware and monitored in near real-time without feeling any lag
- Guitar Interface & Custom DSP
-
- Four guitar/instrument inputs and two re-amp outputs are conveniently located on front panel
- Simulate new & vintage amps and cabinets using the included Overloud Audio Tools collection of plug-ins
- Stacks of effects can be combined in custom FX chains, and saved as presets
- The hardware-based FPGA fast-processing capability allows musicians to experiment with microphone models & placement, pedal effects and EQ settings, with zero latency
- Antelope’s RealModel technology delivers accurate modeling of custom effects like the AuraVerb reverb and vintage analog EQs & compressors
- Convenient Control
-
- All functions are accessible via an intuitive, high-resolution touchscreen control display
- Alternatively, all functions can also be accessed from a smartphone or tablet via the Software Control app for iOS and Android
