Product description The Smart UPS 1000 VA USB & Serial Rack Mountable Power Surge Protector and Battery Backup from APC offers an intelligent solution to protect your hardware and data. Housed in an attractive rack mountable casing and featuring 4 outlets the Smart UPS 1000's battery can keep your equipment running for 14.5 minutes at half-load and 5.4 minutes at full-load if a power failure should occur. - Surge Protection
- Your hardware is protected by a powerful surge suppressor, rated to withstand a surge of up to 480 joules, assuring you that your hardware will be protected and will continue to operate correctly.
- Battery Backup
- A high-capacity battery can supply power for up to 14.5 minutes. This protects your data, giving you ample time to perform a system shutdown in case of power loss.
- Audible Alarm
- An audible alarm is built in to the unit, letting you know when the battery is in use, when the battery level is low, and if there is an overload. The unique sounds for each make it very easy for you to know if your attention is needed.
- Automatic Operation
- When connected to a computer via the built-in USB or RS-232 connection the power supply can automatically shut down your system in case of a power failure. This ensures a safe shutdown of your computer even if you're not around.
- Hot Swappable Battery
- The battery can be changed without having to turn off the UPS, allowing you to quickly and easily replace the battery without having to shut down your system.
- Rack Mountable
- The UPS is rack mountable, making it easy to install to power any sort of rack-mounted equipment.
