Product description Available for download, Applied Acoustic Systems String Studio VS-3 builds upon previous versions of this virtual instrument to bring you new modulators, a new browser for presets, an expanded multi-effects module, and more. The synth itself remains true to its original premise with models of string instruments functioning as oscillators.These string-models comprise the main sound source. You have your option of modeled string with picked, bowed, and hammered timbres available. Over 800 presets are on hand, each with MIDI-controlled variations. The 22 Sound categories are all represented: search for basses, impacts, noises, sweeps, clavinets, and more to find the appropriate sound. You can filter the oscillators with modulations over version 2. Also, you can access microtonal tunings via the Scala scale format for unique, interesting timbres.
Version 3 is backward compatible with sound banks from the previous iteration. Simply copy your VS-2 sound banks into the VS-3's packs folder to convert your previous libraries. This software is compatible with Mac and Windows platforms and can operate in VST, AU, AAX Native, and NKS formats. It can work as a standalone application. - New to Version 3
- Two-Voice Multitimbral: String Studio VS-3 combines two independent timbres—either stacked or split—to create performance-friendly, spacious sounds full of texture and richness. New Modulators: String Studio VS-3 boasts two performance modulators per layer that respond to user-defined MIDI controls. Each sound features effect and morphing assignments that can be played in real-time for enhanced expressivity and sonic dimension.New Signature Sound Packs: String Studio VS-3 ships with four signature sound packs created by sound designers such as Richard Devine, Christian Laffitte, Thiago Pinheiro, and Daniel Stawczyk. 227 new sounds are included. New Browser: String Studio VS-3’s sound browser presents a simple way to find the sound you’re after. String Studio VS-3 sorts sounds by category to present an overview of a pack’s content. Additionally, shortcuts to categories and tone qualities provide a quick way to jump right where you need to be.
