What better way to secure your important files than with the biometrically enhanced 500GB Aegis Biometric USB 3.0 HDD w/ 256-Bit AES-XTS Hardware Encryption from Apricorn. Simply swipe your finger over the fingerprint scanner and access your files even when on the go. This external hard drive features a built-in USB 3.0 cable that not only powers the drive, it supports a maximum theoretical data transfer rate of up to 5 Gb/s. The rugged design of the Aegis Biometric HDD helps to protect against damage from drops while the 256-bit AES-XTS hardware encryption protects data stored within the drive. With an 8 MB cache memory buffer, 5400 rpm drive speed, 12 ms average seek time and enhanced shock protection this drive is sure to offer consistent, reliable performance.
    Utilizes Military Grade FIPS PUB 197 Validated Encryption Algorithm
  • Real-time 256-bit AES-XTS encryption encrypts all data on the drive, protecting the drive even if it is removed from its casing.
    Biometric Fingerprint Access
  • Once registered, swipe your finger on the sensor for access to your files. Up to five fingerprint profiles can be stored and can be accessed without software on the host system. The Aegis Bio's unique Embedded Enrollment keeps all fingerprint enrollment and authentication within the Aegis Bio circuitry, independent of the host system. While other biometric drives use a CD emulation module or software on the host system for fingerprint enrollment, the Aegis Bio requires no software, enabling it to be used on any USB host regardless of OS.

    The fingerprint sensor uses an advanced live layer imaging technology to provide the most accurate fingerprint image possible, using a patented dual-plate active pixel design. The sensor uses three different sensing methods that penetrate outer layers of skin to read live layers under the skin (anti-spoofing protection). It meets the image quality requirements of NIST and the FBI.

  • Replacing passwords with fingerprint biometrics improves security since passwords can be lost or stolen, and users enjoy freedom from memorizing passwords.
