Product description Archival Methods 4x5" Film Interleaving Folders - Oils from your hands will damage prints and film. An accidental scratch on an original can really mess up your day. Guard against these and other environmental pollutants with archival polypropylene or polyester folders. Designed to be used with thumb cut or open end envelops. Single fold allows for easy removal of contents. For long-term storage place the open end of the folder into the envelope first, providing dust protection. When frequent handling is the issue, turn the folder around and use one of the flaps to gently remove the film, this allows handling of the contents by the edges, avoiding fingerprints. Archival Methods believes that a good neg or transparency should be protected at all costs. The extra protection these folders provided will benefit you in the long run. Think of them as cheap insurance! Note: These folders are designed for use with matching Open End Envelope. If you intend to store negatives and transparencies in sleeves only you should use our Side Locking Sleeves instead - Film folders are available in archivally safe, clear 3 mil
- Choose Polypropylene for economy, or Polyester (Melinex 516 Dupont's replacement for Mylar D) if the very highest optical clarity is required
