These drives can be formatted in a variety of RAID configurations including RAID 0, 1, 3, 5, 6, and 10 along with Single Disk and JBOD. The versatile RAID configuration options ensure you can setup your storage array to provide extensive data backup or ultra fast data transfer and data backup speeds.
With both Thunderbolt and USB 3.0 interfaces, you benefit from enhanced performance and improved flexibility. Thunderbolt connectivity lets you move data between high-resolution displays and high-performance data devices through a single, compact port. A single cable attached to one of the ports provides 2 channels each capable of achieving data transfer rates of up to 10 Gb/s. Additionally, the integrated USB 3.0 port is also capable of enhanced data transfer rates of up to 5 Gb/s. - Thunderbolt Technology
- The ARC-5026 features both Thunderbolt and SuperSpeed USB 3.0 interfaces. Thunderbolt technology is a high-speed dual-protocol I/O technology designed for performance, simplicity and flexibility. Thunderbolt I/O technology lets you move data between high-resolution displays and high-performance data devices on a single, compact port. Both data and display signals can be sent and received at the same time through dual 10 Gb/s channels. A single cable attached to one of the ports provides 2 channels able to achieve the 10 Gb/s speeds flowing both way s simultaneously. A single Thunderbolt port supports hubs as well as a daisy chain of up to seven Thunderbolt devices. To improve bandwidth transmission, Thunderbolt has implemented two duplex (PCIe and DisplayPort) channels into the controller and each channel can provide full bi-directional performance.
- Easy RAID Management
- Configuration and monitoring can be managed through the Thunderbolt port using the firmware-embedded web browser-based RAID manager (McRAID). This McRAID manager allows local or remote access from any standard Internet browser via the Archttp utility. The ARC-5026 Thunderbolt RAID storage solution also provides an API library allowing customers to combine it with their own monitor utility. The Disk Stress Test (DST) utility kicks out disks meeting marginal specification requirements before the RAID unit is actually put on-line.
With intelligent cooling, the RAID enclosure continuously adapts to environmental conditions by automatically controlling the speed of the cooling fans. This silent design creates a balance between noise reduction and necessary cooling, making the ARC-5026 well suited for audio/video applications. - Enhanced Performance
- The ARC-5026 is a 4-bay 6 Gb/s SATA Thunderbolt/USB 3.0 storage enclosure with RAID control capabilities designed for a Mac environment. The Thunderbolt host interface makes the ARC-5026 RAID storage well suited for SOHO group professionals. The integrated Thunderbolt technology allows for high-speed data transfers with speeds up to 10 Gb/s. The Thunderbolt port can also be shared by multiple devices while transferring data equally to all connected devices. The ARC-5026 also comes with an integrated on-board high-performance ARM-based storage processor and 1GB DDR3 SDRAM complete with ECC protection.
