Product description Add the speed and storage capabilities of 40 Gb/s Thunderbolt 3 and RAID to your Windows or Mac system using the ARC-8050T3 4-Bay Thunderbolt 3 RAID Enclosure from Areca. Built to deliver fast, versatile connections to docks, displays, and data devices, the ARC-8050T3 is equipped with dual Thunderbolt 3 ports which offer bi-directional data transfer speeds of up to 40 Gb/s. While one Thunderbolt 3 port is used to interface with your compatible macOS 10.12+ or Windows 10/8+ system, the other can be used for daisy chaining up to five additional Thunderbolt 3 devices. Thunderbolt 3 ports can also provide power for device charging, and an integrated DisplayPort supports displays up to 4K/60 Hz.
Powered by an 800 MHz RAID-on-Chip Single-Core processor and 1GB of 800 MHz DDR3 RAM, the ARC-8050T3 has four hot-swappable 3.5" SAS-2 6 Gb/s and SATA III 6 Gb/s drive bays that support SAS-3 12 Gb/s and SATA III 6 Gb/s hard drives and SSDs. Once installed, these four drive bays can be configured in a variety of RAID modes, including RAID 0, 1, 3, 5, 6, and 10, each of which offers performance, data redundancy, or a combination of both. For those who do not require a RAID, Single Disk and JBOD modes are also available.
Areca's ARC-8050T3 4-Bay Thunderbolt 3 RAID Enclosure is cooled using a single 2700 rpm fan and is powered by an internal 135W power supply. Included is a Thunderbolt 3 cable, 16 x drive mounting screws (4 per drive tray), and a power cord. Protection is provided by a limited 3-year warranty. General Features - Unleash Your Creativity
- Thunderbolt 3 brings Thunderbolt to USB Type-C at speeds up to 40 Gb/s, creating one compact port that delivers a fast and versatile connection to docks, displays, and data devices. The ARC-8050T3 is equipped with dual Thunderbolt 3 ports for connecting to Thunderbolt 3-enabled hosts and offers an additional Thunderbolt 3 port for daisy chaining other peripherals, while also supplying power for quick notebook charging. Thunderbolt daisy chaining allows the connecting of up to six devices, so customers can connect the ARC-8050T3 to their host computer for massive amounts of video storage with a single Thunderbolt connection. The ARC-8050T3 can also meet the demands of users when working with rich, high-resolution media through the Thunderbolt 3 interface, and sports a full-sized DisplayPort video output on its rear, allowing for a quick and easy 4K/60Hz display setup.

- The ARC-8050T3 is a complete 4-bay Thunderbolt 3 desktop SAS/SATA RAID storage with RAID control capabilities solution for both PC and Mac. ARC-8050T3 incorporated on-board RAID-On-Chip and ECC SDRAM memory to deliver true high-performance hardware RAID protection against drive failure. This combination helps to provide a high-performance storage device perfect for the video editor working with Real time multi-stream HD and 4K workflows. It runs efficiently without disruption or major drops in performance to meet the requirements of 4K data workflow. It is so quick it allows for 4K displays at the same time as daisy chaining ARC-8050T3 and doing a simultaneous 4K output and file transfers while maintaining maximum throughput.

- The ARC-8050T3 supports the hardware RAID 6 engine to allow two HDDs failures without impacting any existing data and performance. It allows users to hot-swap drives in the event of a failure with minimal downtime. Its high data availability and protection derives from many advanced RAID features on the ARC-8050T3's desktop RAID storage design. Intelligent power on/off functionality turns power on or off in unison with the host computer's power status. It can intelligently power down the unit after the Thunderbolt host shuts down everything for data integrity. The ARC-8050T3 also supports a battery backup option that protects all data in cache memory in the event of unexpected power outage. Board-level hardware encryption manages most kinds of drives attached to ARC-8050T3 without impacting the performance for higher levels of security.

The ArcSAP quick manager is a multi-language management software specifically designed for managing and configuring the ARC-8050T3. You can even configure the ARC-8050T3 to intelligently spin down drives during periods of inactivity to further help reduce noise and save energy.
