Product description Armasight designed the Predator 336 2-8x25 Thermal Weapon Sight as a multipurpose optic that can be used as either a thermal riflescope or a handheld imager. At the core of this device is an uncooled 336x256 FLIR Tau 2 VOx microbolometer that allows you to detect targets during the day or at night and through smoke, snow, fog, or dust. The sensor has spectral resolution of 7-14µm and a pixel size of 17µm and allows you to see all sources of thermal signature in that range. The optical system features a germanium lens with a focal length of 25mm and a 1.0 f-number. It provides operators with 1.6x optical zoom and 66' close focusing distance. To add versatility to the device, the built-in electronics offer a digital zoom of 2x to 4x.
You can view images and aim at targets using the built-in 640x480 LED VGA display with a 60 Hz frame refresh rate or relay videos to an external monitor for viewing or recording. To provide improved visibility and target recognition, the scope also offers six digital reticle patterns in four colors: black, white, red, and cyan. The reticle also features electronic tracking capability, which allows it to stay centered on a target (without a walk-off) while you zoom in or out. The user-friendly drop-down menu allows you to choose between numerous image filtering options and image processing functions that provide many imaging palettes. Additionally, the included remote control allows for a wireless operation.
The housing is made of high-quality aluminum alloy that provides shock-resistant and weather-resistant performance. It also features an ergonomic and lightweight design with knurled adjustment rings. You can use this device as a handheld monocular or mount it to your weapon via a quick release Picatinny/Weaver mount. For other accessories such as lasers, the monocular is outfitted with a Picatinny rail located on a side.
