User manual for the ARRI 12 18kW HMI Fresnel System contain basic instructions

Product description The ARRI 12/18kW HMI Fresnel System features a powerful HMI lamp head with a 24.5" Fresnel lens, a 12/18kW electronic ballast with Active Line Filter and DMX support, four-leaf barndoors, filter frame, and a 50' head to ballast cable. The daylight-balanced lamp is capable of outputting up to 18,000 watts and work from 190-250 VAC with the use of the ballast. The Active Line Filter provides a higher Power Factor resulting in more efficient power use. This is accomplished by shifting the voltage and current waveforms in phase and minimizing harmonics and spikes. The ALF also minimizes the current carried back on the neutral leg of the power systems. Included with the light are a four leaf barndoor set and a filter frame for modifying light as well as a 50' head to ballast cable. - 12K - 18KW HMI Fresnel The Daylight range of studio Fresnels using Double-Ended HMI daylight lamps has been the mainstay of the film industry for many years. Arri HMI Spotlights have the largest lenses in their class and extremely even light distribution. When fitted with an 18K HMI bulb (available separately), this HMI Fresnel will turn night into day with 1446 footcandles 13 feet in diameter, from a distance of 66 feet @ full spot.
It will throw 167 footcandles 101 feet in diameter from the same distance, @ full flood. The recommended, optional 12-18K electronic ballast is flicker-free, and may be used with studio/theater DMX-50 capable control boards and dimmers. It has a compact design which offers easy handling in the field. Safety circuits such as over-voltage, over-temperature and short-circuit protection give safe and reliable operation. - Cooler Fixture Housing

- 12/18kW Electronic Ballast with ALF and DMX (220 VAC) This Arri 12/18kW Electronic Ballast is a dual wattage electronic ballast with DMX remote dimming capabilities and an Active Line Filter for Power Factor Correction. ALF provides a higher Power Factor resulting in more efficient power use. This is accomplished by shifting the voltage and current waveforms in phase and minimizing harmonics and spikes. ALF also minimizes the current carried back on the neutral leg of the power systems.

- Active Line Filter (A.L.F.) assures consistent color output, despite dimming, or mains voltage fluctuations.
- 4 Leaf Barndoor Set for Arri T24 This is an Arri 4 Leaf Barndoor Set for the huge T24 Fresnel. Barndoors attach to the front of a light and are used to restrict light from areas of a set. They have either four or eight leaves that can be adjusted. Arri barndoors are heat resistant and rotatable.
