The value of certain filters - what they do, why they are good and when they are bad choices. What the labs can and can't do - when they should do it and when they shouldn't. Here's a chance to learn photographic techniques from a seasoned pro. Using real life examples, you'll learn the secrets behind some of the great photographic screen moments. About the Author: Gerald Hirschfeld, ASC is a freelance director of photography for theatrical feature films and commercials. In a career spanning more than 45 years, he has been director of photography on such productions as Diary of a Mad Housewife, Young Frankenstein, Fail-Safe, My Favorite Year and Goodbye Columbus. He has taught at the New Institute of Film in Brooklyn, New York; held seminars at The American Film Institute in Los Angeles; and conducted workshops for the Tahoe Film and Video Workshop in Lake Tahoe, Nevada. He and his wife, Julia Tucker editor of this book, were filmmakers in residence for three years at the International Film & Digital Workshops in Rockport, Maine. Mr. Hirschfeld is a member of the American Society of Cinematographers, the International Cinematographers Guild, the Motion Picture Academy of Arts and Sciences and is a retired member of the Society of Motion Picture and Television Engineers. He has earned Lifetime Achievement Awards from both the Southern Oregon Film and Video Association and the Ashland Film Festival, as well as the Billy Bitzer Award from the International Cinematographers Guild, Local 644. In addition, the first edition of Image Control earned a book award from the Kraszna-Krausz Foundation of London, England. Table of Contents
