Product description Gaming Laptops The 15.6" Republic of Gamers Zephyrus S GX531GM Gaming Laptop from Asus is designed to be thin, fast, and quiet without sacrificing gaming performance. Specs-wise, it's powered by a 2.2 GHz Intel Core i7-8750H six-core processor and 16GB DDR4 RAM. Even though it only measures 0.6 inches thin, the Zephyrus houses an NVIDIA GeForce GTX 1060 graphics card for high-resolution gaming performance. Thanks to its Active Aerodynamic System (AAS), a portion of the bottom opens when the display is lifted to increase the amount of space for air circulation, letting you game for hours without throttling.
For storage, it has a 512GB PCIe NVMe solid-state drive for quick booting and loading applications. Should you need more space, you can connect external storage solutions using its multiple USB ports. The 15.6" display has a 1920 x 1080 resolution and provides you with wide viewing angles and 100% sRGB gamut cover for immersive and vivid colors. More importantly, it features a 144 Hz refresh rate and a 3 ms response time for more responsive gaming. Other integrated features include 802.11ac Wi-Fi, Bluetooth 5.0, an HD webcam, and a mic/headphone jack. The operating system installed is Windows 10 Home (64-Bit). - NVIDIA GeForce GTX 10-Series
- Based on NVIDIA's Pascal architecture, the NVIDIA GeForce GTX 10-series graphics card provides major improvements in performance, memory bandwidth, and power efficiency over its predecessor, the Maxwell architecture. When used with a monitor that has G-SYNC hardware installed, the monitor's refresh rate will sync and lock with the graphics card's output frame rate. Establishing this sync removes tearing and stuttering which can result from conventional fixed screen refresh rates. An additional benefit of G-SYNC is reduced lag so gamers will benefit from the improved command response time as well.

- The RoG Zephyrus S is crafted with a CNC-milled unibody lid for durability. Moreover, it weighs less than 5 pounds and measures just 0.6" thin, making it an easily portable gaming solution.
- Display
- The 15.6" In-Plane Switching (IPS) display features narrow bezels, a 144Hz refresh rate, a 3ms response time, 100% sRGB color gamut coverage, and wide 178° viewing angles. With it, you'll be able to enjoy responsive and immersive gaming with vivid colors.
- Active Aerodynamic System
- The Active Aerodynamic System (AAS) is designed to improve cooling to help sustain high GPU clocks for demanding games. When lifting the lid, the chassis is raised by 5mm, creating additional room for airflow. Additionally, this system has self-cleaning, anti-dust fans, four heatsinks, and five heatpipes for the CPU, GPU, and VRMs.
- Asus Aura Sync
- The keyboard on the Zephyrus is equipped with Asus Aura Sync for customizable four-zone LED lighting. Asus Aura Sync is also compatible with select peripherals to give your setup a cohesive look. Additionally, the keyboard features N-key rollover and its keys are designed to last for up to 20 million presses.
- Audio
- The Zephyrus S has dual front-facing speakers to direct sound right at you. Smart amplifier technology keeps them within set thermal and excursion limits to prevent damaging the cones while still allowing you to turn up the volume.
- Software
- ROG Armoury Crate is a system control and monitoring software that lets you access multiple settings from lighting control to custom game profiles.
Windows 10 - Start Menu
- After its hiatus in Windows 8, the Start Menu has returned. Utilizing a combination of the traditional menu system and Windows 8's Live Tiles, the improved Start Menu gives you more information at a glance, showing notification information alongside your applications and other pinned items.
- Cortana
- Microsoft's digital personal assistant, Cortana can answer your questions with information gleaned from both your device and the internet at large. You can type or even talk with her, if your system has a microphone. Using her Laptop, Cortana keeps track of your needs and wants, and she learns over time to improve her information gathering skills.
- Microsoft Edge
- After nearly 20 years, Microsoft has finally replaced its Internet Explorer web browser. With Microsoft Edge, users can write directly on web pages and share notes with friends and colleagues. It also improves the online reading experience by adding a distraction-free mode and read-it-later functionality. Edge also has built-in Cortana integration; you can have her help you find a restaurant, make a reservation, and pull up directions without leaving your browser.

- For Windows 10, Microsoft has unified the Windows Store. Now, apps for PCs, tablets, and phones will all be accessible from one place. And with support for Universal Apps, one version of an app can work across all your compatible devices automatically.
- Windows Continuum
- Windows 10 was designed for a variety of screen sizes and input styles, and with its Continuum feature, it automatically adapts to fit your needs. A Windows 10 tablet on its own requires a touch-centric approach, but attaching a mouse and keyboard will shift everything to a more traditional interface.
