Product description The DRW-24F1ST 24x Internal SATA Multi DVD Writer from ASUS is a Windows 8, 7, Vista, and XP compatible optical drive that supports a broad range of 8 and 12cm media, including DVD±R (SL/DL), DVD±RW, DVD-ROM (SL/DL), DVD-RAM, CD-R, CD-RW, and CD-ROM. It features a maximum DVD write speed of 24x, a maximum DVD read speed of 16x, and a maximum CD write speed of 48x. It also supports DVD playback at 6x and Audio CD and VCD playback at 16x. This optical drive mounts within your system's 5.25" drive bay using a SATA connection and is also equipped with access times of 130 ms for DVDs and 170 ms for CDs. The DRW-24F1ST also utilizes E-Green technology which auto-closes the drive application when it is not in use, helping to reduce power consumption. Additionally, Disc Encryption II software helps increase security with password-controls and hidden-file functionality. General Features - Green Focus
