Product description The KNPA-U16 SP3 EEB Motherboard from ASUS is built on the AMD EPYC 7000 processor, an SoC platform that delivers advanced performance for servers. With up to 32 cores per CPU and 64 threads, the KNPA-U16 delivers power in a minimal 12 x 13" EEB form factor. Sixteen 288-pin DIMM slots support up to 2048GB (2TB) of 2666 and 2400 MHz RDIMM, LRDIMM, and LR-DIMM 3DS memory. RDIMMs are supported for 8, 16, and 32GB modules, LRDIMMs are supported for 32 and 64GB modules, and LR-DIMM 3DS is supported for 64 and 128GB modules. Additionally, an integrated I/O controller on the processor helps to eliminate the data transfer bottlenecks caused by discrete I/O chipsets for reduced latency and faster system performance.
Other features include a dual port Intel I350-AM2 Gigabit LAN controller, one Management LAN port, integrated Aspeed AST2500 graphics with 64MB of video memory, two USB 3.0 Type-A ports (rear), one VGA port (rear), one USB 3.0 header that supports up to two devices (internal), one USB Type-A port (internal), a microSD card slot (internal), a serial port header (internal), and a VGA header (internal). Expand this motherboard using its six PCIe slots and one connector for an OCP 2.0 Mezzanine card. In terms of storage, there are four SATA III 6 Gb/s connectors, two Mini-SAS HD connectors that support eight SATA III drives, six OCuLink connectors for NVMe SSDs, and one M.2 slot that supports SATA III and PCIe 3.0 x4 2242, 2260, 2280, and 22110 SSDs. - The KNPA-U16 supports up to twelve SATA drives via two Mini-SAS HD and four SATA connectors for more connectivity with external devices and cleaner cable routing. With six onboard OCuLink connectors that provide efficient port-to-port connection with NVMe devices, the KNPA-U16 eliminates the need for PCIe transaction cards, while providing the reduced latency and higher maximum bandwidth of NVMe technology.
