Product description Powered exclusively by Intel Core X-Series processors, the Prime X299-Deluxe II LGA 2066 ATX Motherboard from ASUS has been engineered for professional content creators and power users who work and play hard. It puts a friendly face on advanced enthusiast controls, enabling you to maximize performance, cooling, and personalization with ease. Maximize connectivity and speed with three M.2 slots, front panel USB 3.1 Gen 2, integrated Wi-Fi and 5G LAN, Intel VROC, and Intel Optane compatibility. 5-Way Optimization with Auto-Tuning and FanXpert 4 automatically tailors overclocking profiles for improved performance and cooling, while ASUS' SafeSlot integrates metal framing for a stronger PCIe slot that can support heavyweight GPUs. This motherboard is designed to fit in ATX sized cases, supports the LGA 2066 socket, the Intel X299 chipset, and is compatible with Windows 10 (64-bit).
The ATX form factor of the Prime X299-Deluxe II can support up to 128GB of DDR4 RAM over eight quad-channel slots, or 16GB per slot at speeds of 4266 (OC), 4200 (OC), 4133 (OC), 4000 (OC), 3600 (OC), 2666, 2400, and 2133 MHz non-ECC unbuffered memory. For storage, there are eight SATA III 6 Gb/s ports and three M.2 Socket 3, with M key, all of which support 2242, 2260, 2280, and 22110 form factors. Two of the slots only support PCIe 3.0 x4, while the other supports both SATA and PCIe 3.0 x4. Also supported is RAID 0, 1, 5, and 10, plus Intel Optane Memory.
There are also a total of two Thunderbolt 3 ports (back panel), four USB 3.1 Gen 1 Type-A ports (back panel), two USB 3.1 Gen 1 connectors (mid-board) that support four additional USB 3.1 Gen 1 ports, two USB 2.0 Type-A ports (back panel), and one USB 2.0 connector (mid-board) that supports an additional two USB 2.0 ports. For those looking to expand their system using PCIe, 44-lane CPUs support three PCIe 3.0/2.0 x16 (x16, x16/x16, x16/x16/x8) slots and two PCIe 3.0/2.0 x1 slots, while 28-lane CPUs support two PCIe 3.0/2.0 x16 (x16, x16/x8) slots, one PCIe 3.0/2.0 x16 slot running in x2 mode, and two PCIe 3.0/2.0 x1 slots.
For delivering sharp, clear graphics, this motherboard supports integrated graphics with two DisplayPort inputs. The Thunderbolt 3 ports support DisplayPort and Thunderbolt video outputs, and the DisplayPort 1.4 standard supports a maximum resolution of 7680 x 3840 at 60 Hz. The Thunderbolt 3 ports can also be used to daisy-chain up to 12 Thunderbolt devices and provide up to 5V / 3A of charging power. - With up to 18 cores, four memory channels, and 44 PCIe lanes, the Intel Core processors demand a lot more juice than typical desktop CPUs. The Prime X299-Deluxe II feeds their appetite with 12 power phases hooked up to the socket and two more for the DRAM. It also augments the motherboard's link to the PSU with dual eight-pin connectors that pass 12V of power directly to the processor. These jacks are based on their ProCool design, which uses solid pins that can handle more current than conventional connectors with hollow pins
