Product description The ROG Crosshair VI Hero AM4 ATX Motherboard from ASUS lets you build an AMD desktop system that sports an AMD Ryzen, 7th-generation A-series, or 7th-generation Athlon processor. The motherboard comes with an AM4 socket and an AMD X370 chipset. Four DDR4 DIMM slots are on board to support up to 64GB of memory modules. For expansion cards, the motherboard is equipped with two PCIe 3.0 x16 slots along with one PCIe 2.0 x16 slot and three PCIe 2.0 x1 slots. With an AMD Ryzen processor installed, you can overclock your memory modules up to 3200 MHz, and the PCIe 3.0 x16 slots can operate in a x8/x8 mode.
The ROG Crosshair VI Hero motherboard offers one M.2 slot and eight SATA connectors to accommodate hard drives, SSDs, and optical drives. To access the Internet, it comes with an Intel Gigabit Ethernet port and an 802.11ac Wi-Fi module, which allows for a wireless connection. There's also Bluetooth 4.1 that enables wireless access to speakers and headsets. This motherboard has two USB 3.1 ports with 10 Gb/s speeds, and one of the ports features a USB Type-C interface for easy connections with a USB-C cable. Aside from the two USB 3.1 ports, eight USB 3.0 and four USB 2.0 ports are on board. For audio connections, sound is delivered through six audio jacks, which are powered by a S1220A processor.
ASUS has outfitted the ROG Crosshair VI Hero motherboard with onboard LEDs that are easily controlled using ASUS Aura Sync technology. RGB headers on the motherboard allow you to add optional RGB LED strips within your case. Aside from lighting, ASUS lets you easily overclock your unlocked processor by providing easy-to-use software and supporting liquid-cooling solutions. - AMD AM4 Socket
- This motherboard supports AMD Ryzen processors, 7th Generation A-series accelerated processing units (APUs), and Athlon CPUs. The Ryzen processor supports up to eight cores and is based on the Zen core architecture. The 7th Generation A-series APUs feature integrated AMD Radeon R-series graphics. AMD AM4-socket processors feature dual-channel DDR4 memory, native 5 Gb/s USB 3.0, and 16 PCI Express 3.0/2.0 lanes for enhanced performance.
- AMD X370 Chipset
- The AMD X370 chipset delivers overclocking capabilities for AMD AM4-socket Ryzen processors, 7th Generation A-series APUs, and Athlon APUs. It is optimized for multiple GPU configurations including NVDIA SLI and AMD CrossFireX. It also provides two 10 Gb/s USB 3.1 ports and eight 6 Gb/s SATA ports for fast data retrieval.
- Aura Lighting Control
- Aura is a lighting-control software program for the built-in RGB LEDs and your RGB strips, which are connected to the motherboard's two onboard 4-pin headers. The LEDs are synchronized under different effect modes, including Static, Breathing, Strobing, Color Cycle, Music, CPU Temp., Rainbow, Comet, and Flash & Dash. The RGB-strip header is compatible with 5050 RGB LED strips with a maximum power rating of 2A (12V). Additionally, an LED extension cable is included.
- Gaming Audio
- SupremeFX audio technology delivers 113dB signal-to-noise ratio on the line-in connection and 120dB on line-out for high-quality recording. It includes a low-dropout regulator for cleaner power delivery to the SupremeFX S1220 codec, an ESS Sabre Hi-Fi ES9023P digital-to-analog converter for front-panel outputs, and a Texas Instruments RC4580 op-amp for high gain with low distortion. The SupremeFX S1220 codec provides 10 DAC channels, simultaneous 7.1-channel playback, and independent 2-channel and multiple-stream stereo to front-panel outputs.
