Product description The ROG XG Station 2 from ASUS is an external PCIe graphics card dock that turns a Thunderbolt 3-enabled notebook or AIO Windows computer into a gaming or video editing system. The ROG XG Station 2 is compatible with full-length, double-width graphics cards and connects to your system via a Thunderbolt 3 connection. To support power-hungry equipment, it comes outfitted with a 600W power supply that provides up to 500W of power for your graphics card and up to 100W for recharging a notebook's internal battery.
Other notable features include four USB 3.0 ports for printers, external storage drives, and other useful USB peripherals, as well as one Gigabit Ethernet port to reliably game online without lag. Moreover, there's a built-in RGB lightning system that syncs to supported gear. ROG XG Station 2 Features - VR Gaming and Portability
- With an optional VR-ready graphics card installed, the ROG XG Station 2 provides your notebook with a new level of gaming graphics without sacrificing the notebook's portability feature.
- Thunderbolt 3 Connectivity
- Thunderbolt 3 transfers data at rates of up to 40 Gb/s, allowing the system to provide desktop-grade performance from a dedicated GPU while gaming and editing 4K videos. It also supplies power to your devices.
- NVIDIA- and AMD-Compatible
- The ROG XG Station 2 supports full-length desktop graphics cards with coolers up to 2.5 slots wide, so you can choose from a broad range of graphics cards from AMD or NVIDIA to suit your needs.
- Plug and Play
- The ROG XG Station 2 can be connected or disconnected from your notebook or 2-in-1 PC without restarting. It provides four USB 3.0 ports and one Gigabit Ethernet port for simultaneous keyboard, mouse, VR headset, monitor, and Internet connectivity. When connected via a Thunderbolt 3 cable and a USB Type-B cable, the ROG XG Station 2 uses the additional USB signal channel to deliver up to 2x faster random read speeds and 1.8x faster write speeds than with a single Thunderbolt 3 connection alone.
- 600W 80-PLUS Gold Power Supply
- The internal power supply provides up to 500W of power to a high-performance graphics card and up to 100W to your notebook or 2-in-1 PC via Thunderbolt 3, eliminating the need for a separate power cable to help keep your workspace tidy. With 80 Plus Gold certification, the power supply is up to 90% energy efficient, reducing electricity use and operating costs.
- ROG XG Station 2 Design
- When paired with an Aura-enabled ROG Strix gaming graphics card, ASUS Aura Sync technology synchronizes the internal RGB lighting to the GPU. Moreover, there's a plasma tube, which crackles with electricity, on the front of ROG XG Station 2.
