Product description Built with a CEB form factor and ATX mounting holes for use in chassis, tower, or rack systems that are being used for SMB, print/file/mail, and entry storage servers, the Z11PA-D8 Server LGA 3647 CEB Motherboard from ASUS features the Intel C621 chipset and dual LGA 3647 sockets, each of which can support one processor. Each processor supports four DIMM slots and compatible memory types include 4, 8, 16, and 32GB RDIMM modules, 32 and 64GB LR-DIMM modules, and 64 and 128GB LR-DIMM 3DS modules. With all eight DIMM slots in use, up to 1TB of memory is supported.
The Z11PA-D8 has a total of four mini-SAS connectors that can support a total of 16 SATA III 6 Gb/s ports, as well as two M.2 connectors that support 2242, 2260, 2280, and 22110 SSDs via PCIe 3.0 x4. There are also four USB 3.0 Type-A ports, one VGA port, four Gigabit Ethernet ports, and one LAN management port. Internal expansion can be accomplished using two PCIe 3.0 x16 slots, one PCIe 3.0 x8 slot, and one MIO PCIe x1 slot for an audio card. Additional peripherals can be utilized via one USB 3.0 header and one USB 2.0 header, each of which supports two devices, and one serial port header.

The Intel Xeon Scalable platform also delivers better virtualization performance, enabling 4.2x more virtual machines (VMs) per system. With eight DIMM slots that support up to 1TB of DDR4 RAM, the Z11PA-D8 delivers efficient memory capabilities for your business.
- Increased Performance or Data Redundancy with Dual M.2 SSDs in RAID Mode
- In performance-maximizing RAID 0 configurations with dual M.2 SSDs, write speeds are up to 40% faster than a single M.2 SSD drive setup and read operations are up to 84% faster. Or, for total reassurance, pair your M.2 devices into a RAID 1 configuration for instant data redundancy. The Z11PA-D8 comes with an optional Virtual RAID on CPU (VROC) enabling connector to support NVMe SSDs with Intel Volume Management Device technology. The NVMe SSDs are directly connected to the CPU, enabling latency reduction and increased bandwidth, while reducing power consumption by 15W compared to traditional hardware RAID cards.

- The Z11PA-D8 features dual onboard OCuLink to provide efficient port-to-port connection with most OCuLink-supported NVMe devices, eliminating the need for PCIe transaction cards.
