Product description A Guide to Birding with Spotting Scopes Read More At less than 7 inches long, the angled-viewing Athlon Optics Ares 7.5-22.5x50 Spotting Scope will be your constant companion wherever you go to glass.This scope employs fully multi-coated, extra-low dispersion glass lens elements set in an apochromatic configuration that eliminates spherical and chromatic aberrations. When combined with its dielectric-coated BAK4 prism system, the results are bright and clear tack-sharp, high-contrast images with accurate color fidelity without distortion across the entire field of view. The broad zoom range allows you to take in a wide field of view for general viewing purposes, with the ability to draw subjects in close for more detailed observations. This version of the Ares is configured with the eyepiece set at a 45° angle relative to the optical tube to place your head in a comfortable viewing position whether you're standing, sitting, or lying prone.To withstand the rigors of the trail, range, or blind, Athlon built the chassis out of a lightweight and durable aluminum alloy and wrapped it in a protective rubber armor. The large focusing collar is slip resistant, making it easy to achieve a sharp focus in cold and wet weather or while wearing gloves. The optical tube is argon filled and O-ring sealed to be waterproof and resistant to internal fogging if it should accidentally get dropped in a puddle or stream.
