The 8' CFP-58B Carbon Fiber Telescoping Boom Pole with Internal Cable & Bottom XLR Base from Auray is a lightweight and durable boom pole that is loaded with features like anti-tangle integrated cable with triple strain relief system, anti-twist tube design, Neutrik XLR connectors, and easy drop-through cable insertion to keep your sessions trouble and maintenance-free. It allows you to place a microphone close to the subject while remaining at a distance or out of frame, whether recording a narrative film, documentary, or a run-and-gun ENG (Electronic News Gathering) production. The boom poles feature reinforced carbon fiber composite tubes that offer an exceptional strength-to-weight ratio. They are lightweight yet durable, and are designed to withstand the rigors of field use. They are easy to handle, even in extreme temperatures, and are built with ergonomic twist-locks for a comfortable grip, and anti-twist tube sections, which prevents the tubes from rotating independently of each other. The removable arrowhead-tip design reduces the weight at the top of the pole - further reducing fatigue - and allows for easy, solderless cable replacement. Featuring a standard 3/8"-16 threaded mount, the boom pole fits most microphone shock mounts. Optional accessories include carbon fiber extension tubes, cable replacement kits, bottom and side exit housings, and a balance weight. Carbon Fiber
Matrix reinforced carbon fiber provides exceptional strength while remaining lightweight, and is comfortable to handle, even in extreme temperatures. The lightweight design reduces handling fatigue during lengthy sessions.
Anti-Twist Tube Sections & Ergonomic Twist-Locks
The anti-twist design prevents the tube sections from rotating independently of each other, and allows for one handed operation of the twist locks. This is particularly useful to boom pole operators when quick length adjustment, as well as fast setup and breakdown, are essential. The ergonomic twist-locks are comfortable to grip. Together they make length adjustment fast and effortless.
Coiled XLR Cable
Auray's coiled XLR cable is a high performance, anti-tangle coiled cable. It will not tangle or stretch, even after being fully extended for many hours. The triple strain relief system enhances the longevity of the integrated cable, and ensures there will be no interruptions to your recording, which can be the result of stress to the connector.
Right Angle XLR Connector
The cable features a Neutrik right angle XLR connector that provides a secure locking connection with flawless signal transfer. The right angle provides more clearance when connected to the back of the microphone, preventing damage to the cable.
Bottom Exit XLR Base
The flush mount Neutrik bottom exit XLR connector is securely integrated into the bottom exit attachment, providing a secure locking connection with excellent signal transfer.
Removable Arrowhead Tip
The unique arrowhead-tip design reduces weight at the top of the pole. Combined with a unique quick connect cable system, it allows for solderless drop-through cable insertion and makes cable replacement quick and uncomplicated, without the need for special tools. Expandable
Carbon fiber extension tubes are optionally available for easily adding length to your boom pole in a pinch as your session requires, without sacrificing strength.
