Product description The WSS-ID-2018 Pro ID Windshield with Nameplate for Station ID - 7.1" from Auray is a highly effective solution for reducing wind noise with a minimum of high-frequency loss for professional ENG and EFP applications.The windshield features an open-cell foam matrix that is surrounded by 25mm of simulated rabbit fur, and is designed with an airtight rubber base which seals out wind from the rear of the microphone to improve isolation. The diffusion technology lowers wind velocity in a controlled air space around the microphone and reduces wind noise by up to 25 dB.As for the windshield, it is most effective in a light to strong breeze (4-25 mph), and users can generally expect a 24 dB to 40 dB reduction in wind noise. For most applications, the minimal high-frequency dampening is a worthwhile exchange for the reduction in wind noise.In addition to the 360° wind protection, the windshield protects your microphone from dust, dirt, and moisture. Also, the integrated nameplate furnishes a 3.2 × 2 in (82 × 50mm) area to attach a label with your station ID. - 360° Protection
