Improvements Since Previous Version
• Benefit from over a thousand pieces of creative content, including 32 effects, added since the previous edition. Apply film frames, darkroom effects, grunge edges, natural media borders, and dozens of other stylistic touches. The software provides 300 pre-made layouts and instant effects, as well as updated storyboards and the ability to brush on edges. The brush tools can be applied to the entire photo, but are also so precise that you can selectively alter just the individual part you want in one stroke--even if it's a single pixel. Larger content previews and content collections have also been re-organized so you can more easily find what you seek. An improved preview and rendering system, along with an updated interface, make PhotoGraphic Edges Gen 1 easier to use and master. Many aspects of the program can be tweaked by changing the hue, opacity and many other visual characteristics. You can alter the lighting, age or texture of your image. Additionally, you can clone, mask and invert your selections for even more creative possibilities. Also added in this version of the software is the ability to add multiple layers to create more interesting images.

Edges, Frames and Borders
• You can use the dynamic and non-destructive Transform Tool to reshape edges to fit the dimensions of the photo, or to scale and position the photo. Additionally, there is a Transform Tool available for the photo itself, allowing you to tweak the image as desired. Creative custom frames and borders can enhance your images, allowing you to remove conventional straight edges in favor of more unique, artistic options. Easily create a realistic frame as if it were 20+ years old. You can add text to images, as well, generating words for captions and descriptions. Utilize the helpful undo/redo hot-key or press the original image button to return to your starting point if necessary. Move backwards and forward as many steps as needed to get the look you are after.

Backgrounds
• Available selections include Colors, Gradients, Textures and more.

Ready-Made Presets
• Place pre-selected templates inside your frame, affording you the ability to make an image directly from the presets. The instant preset effects provide an easy starting point. Anyone can design his/her own presets and save them for later use on other images. Click "Select Preset" and you are there. The new roll-over before/after preset controls display examples of how the effect will look once applied. Customized User Created Presets can be limited to just one effect or feature several stacked together for additional possibilities.

Combine Effects Together Using Layer Effects Palette
• You will find that it's easy to combine effects together to create that perfect digital image. Simply check your layers on/off to see how the image appears with or without a particular effect in the stack. When you choose one particular layer effect to deactivate, the other layers will remain active to provide the enhancement and refinement desired. Increase or decrease the enhancements/refinements through the use of the sliders and tools.

Compatibility and Integration
• Runs on Mac and Windows operating systems. Can be used as a standalone program or as a plug-in for Adobe Photoshop, Photoshop Elements, Corel Draw and Corel Paintshop Pro. Saving in Adobe Photoshop format as a plug-in will export the effect layers into a single transparent layer in an Adobe Photoshop native document.

Edges

Abstract Edges
• Benefit from a large assortment of abstract shapes and edges that can be used to form unique artwork designs that mask parts of your photo. Create angles and combine different edges together to make unique shapes. Blend edges on the sides of your digital images.

Darkroom Edges
• Choose from hundreds of professionally-crafted darkroom edges, including film brackets, etched glass negatives, sloppy borders and chemical transfers.

Digital Edges
• An array of digitally generated or remastered and altered edge effects. You can combine different shapes together and apply background textures, mood lighting and other effects to get the right settings for your composition.

Geometric Edges
• Take advantage of a large collection of shapes and designs with hundreds of different styles. Each shape can be combined with other shapes to allow for a huge number of possibilities. Create and combine unique custom-designed results with the extensive textures, adornments, overlays and mood settings available.

Grunge Edges
• Surround your digital images with shapes and artistic grunge looks that are complex but easy to apply. The styles can vary from simple to extravagant. Add shadows against the background styles and textures contained within PhotoGraphic Edges Gen 1 to make your digital images really stand out.

Montage Edges
• Combine different edges and photos together in a single image to create layouts and photo compositions. Each edge contains a photo and can be customized, transformed, angled, shadowed, layered and integrated into the composition for a truly customized final image. Montage Edges are particularly effective for photo books and other production-oriented jobs.

Painted Edges
• Extensive collection of hand-painted edge effects that add distinctive brush strokes to your digital images. Several different and customized artistic techniques are used to make the hundreds of pieces of content found in Painted Edges.

Vignette Edges
• Apply fading vignettes, shapes and edges to images. Use the blend tool on-screen with little effort to place your fades precisely where you want them. Effortlessly blend photos into backgrounds and easily control fading and blending as desired. Easily apply the feather and blend tools to almost any digital image in unique ways.

Effects

Acid Etching
• Brush on an etched edge to give your image a darkroom-style, 'etched glass' negative appearance. Traditionally, when a negative is sandwiched between two pieces of glass and is then projected onto photographic paper to be developed, the edges of the glass develop as etched areas along the sides of the developed photo. Use Acid Etching to reproduce this classic look.

Ambient Brush
• Gives you the ability to brush on a patterned texture to accent the borders of your photo or to frame the subject.

Burned Edges
• Simulate the look of burning the edges of photo paper. Customize the edge by brushing on the burn to shape the photo and remove areas of your digital image as you brush. You can burn holes into the photo anywhere you wish.

Distort Edges
• You can distort the edge style by brushing over any desired area of your image. Take control over the shape of the effect by roughening, displacing and distorting the edges wherever the brushed section is preferred.

Edge Brush
• Interactively brush on the desired edge with any of the 230+ different Edge Brushes available. Each brush stroke can have unique content associated with it and feature individual stroke settings, such as opacity, size and feather. Combine different media together in a single effect to have charcoal, watercolor, pencil, splats, smudges and other brush looks appear in the same image.

Photo Border
• Generates custom borders around your photo with beveled edges featuring reflections, shading and depth. Create colorful borders with a glassy appearance, as well as textured, mottled borders containing shading and atmosphere. Apply a double inlay surround to frame a specific point of emphasis in almost any digital image.

Photo Tabs
• Generate photo-realistic tabs on each corner of your photo. You can add textures, colors and surface maps and control the shading and lighting of the tabs. Different shapes and corners are available so you can customize the effect. Apply a bevel style to the tab for even more options.

Putty Edges
• Create unique effects that let you push, twist, scale and reshape the edges around your digital images. You can brush the shape of the edge to fit your photo composition for a highly customized look.

Smudged Edges
• Brush along the sides of an edge effect and seamlessly blend the photo and the edge together into the background. Infinite possibilities are available with precise brush controls, such as size, feather and opacity, as well as hundreds of creative brush shapes and styles.

Transfer
• Simulate tissue paper transfer techniques in which a photo is developed on a thin sheet of paper and then placed over another surface. Transfer lets you brush on wrinkles and shape the tissue and the photo. You also have control over the way the transfer and photo blend together with the scene.

Polaroid Transfer
• Create an effect resembling a realistic result without using expensive camera equipment and lens filters.

Frames

Artistic Frames
• Offer a variety of different brush strokes and patterns for composing elegant borders. Ideal for adding color and an amusing element to any composition.

Classic Frames
• Choose from dozens of distinctive styles of frames and add adornments for a customized look.

Dual Frames
• Layouts that use two frames together with your photos to make unique compositions. Load different photos, then scale and crop the viewing area inside the frame as desired with a wide variety of available frame types and styles. Dual Frames are useful when you want to display multiple photos simultaneously. Use the included backgrounds to add even more interest and drama to the composition.

Film Frames
• Expertly mask photos inside professional film frames with a wide range of creative content. Artistic layout designs with two or more frames are included. Taped borders, textured backgrounds and other artistic treatments have been expertly crafted to yield professional results.

Grunge Frames
• Distinctive effects such as splatter, wisps, tendrils, etched and sketched edges, as well as a number of custom treatments and techniques. Many of these effects are black or gray in color and resemble something painted or sketched in a loose, free style.

Natural Media
• Enjoy an extensive selection of hand-crafted frames painted using just about every known medium and technique. Natural Media includes watercolor, acrylic, oil, pastel, colored pencil, crayon, ink and solvent mixtures with lots of unique looks.

Quad Frames
• A collection of frames containing four photos to be placed in the layout. Quad Frames are either similar in style on each layout or joined together with a common border. Use different photos in each place-holder or use the same photo and add adjusted, cropped digital images for different and unique composition in each frame.

Scrapbook Fun
• A fun collection of frames, each with a unique theme for a wide variety of perspectives and effects. Add adornments and overlays to further enhance each frame and personalize the composition.

Storyboards
• Elegant layouts designed for photo books, wedding albums and much more. Most have built-in shading, grunge, accents and other attributes that help build on the design theme of the storyboard.

Thin Borders
• Contains a collection of very thin, elegant, hand-crafted borders, great for accenting photos without distracting from the pictures themselves. Single and double borders and different shapes and styles are available for selection.

Traditional Frames
• Frames you would normally find in a gallery or home hanging on the wall or sitting on a desk. Types include different kinds of metal and wood constructs.

Watercolor Frames
• A beautiful collection of watercolor brush strokes and colors for blending. The frame shapes vary from rectangular to circular and the brush styles and colors also offer a variety of choices.
