Product description The AP-536 HDMI Audio Extractor from AV Toolbox allows you to de-embed the audio from an HDMI signal and route it separately via optical or analog outputs. You may want to route the audio to an independent amplifier/speaker system for various reasons, including if your display is incapable of processing the audio from your HDMI source.
Connect your HDMI signal to the HDMI input on the side, and run it via the HDMI output to your display. At the same time, run either the L/R RCA or optical TOSLink S/PDIF output to your amplifier. There's also an audio EDID selector on the side that lets you set the desired audio support mode (TV Pass-Through, Bitstream, or 2-Ch LPCM). The optical output supports Dolby Digital, DTS, and LPCM 2.0 sources. The L/R RCA output only supports LPCM 2.0 sources.
The AP-536 is HDCP 1.2 compliant for compatibility with HDCP protected devices, such as most Blu-ray players. It operates at a clock speed of 225 MHz and sample rate of 192 kHz for HDMI and 48 kHz for audio signals. When running a 1080p video signal, the AP-536 supports HDMI cable lengths up to 50 ft. - Key Features
