Product description The AV Toolbox C2-2375A Universal Scaler PLUS is a 3G-SDI converter based on TV One’s CORIO 2 technology and provides enhanced quality bi-directional conversion between a variety of analog and digital video formats. Input and outputs can be SD / HD / 3G-SDI, DVI, composite video, YC, YUV, YPbPr, or RGB. The signal parameters of the incoming video are adjustable. All settings are stored in non-volatile memory and are retained even when power is switched off. Ten user-defined presets are also available to customize settings for various applications. The high resolution RGB / YPbPr output is selectable as virtually any PC or HDTV resolution. The AutoSet feature makes setup easy by automatically sizing and positioning the computer image to fit exactly on the video screen. NTSC, PAL, PAL-M, PAL-N, SECAM standards are supported. The 2nd DVI and analog outputs can be set to be a different video format and resolution. All the functions can be controlled via the front panel push buttons, or RS-232 / 422 / 485, or IP connections. The Windows Control Panel software (downloadable from website) is provided and most third-party control systems interface directly with the product. A front panel LCD makes setup easy. The unit is housed in a standard 1U rack mount case and features an optional, redundant internal PSU and power inlet. Variable Zoom to 10x allows you to enlarge an image from any part of the computer screen to fill the entire video screen, and position controls allow movement to any area desired. Variable Shrink till 10% allows fitting the image onto most displays. The advanced Digital Flicker Elimination circuitry and high sampling rate ensure crisp, clear images, while full bandwidth chroma sampling ensures reproduced, high resolution colors. Temporal interpolation greatly improves frame rate conversion by analyzing and merging successive frames. Pixel Level Motion Adaptive Diagonal Interpolation and Noise Reduction ensures enhanced quality de-interlacing of PAL, NTSC, and 1080i signals. 3:2 Pull-down ensures proper 24 fps film extraction from NTSC and 1080i sources. The Key Mode feature allows computer graphics to be keyed over an external composite, YC, or SDI signal. The keyed image may be faded in and out. Because of the 4:4:4 sampling format, precise keying at the pixel level can be achieved. The Mix Mode permits Seamless Cut, Fade, or Wipe transitions between input sources. This feature allows either of the computer HD15 / DVI inputs to be inset in a window over any of the CV / YC / SDI video inputs or vice versa. The PIP window may be placed anywhere on the screen. The Genlock feature is SD and HD compatible and ensures precise synchronization of the incoming signals by providing a wide Subcarrier Lock Range with Subcarrier Phase Adjust. General - The 3G-SDI converter uses the CORIO 2 Engine to perform its functions. The CORIO 2 technology is a powerful toolset for any application requiring high quality video signal conversion or image manipulation.
- The unit features a single main video processing and scaling engine with video mixing, keying, and fader capabilities. A secondary scaler is provided to allow scaling of the output to another resolution or video format. These functions allow the flexibility for handling a wide range of inputs and outputs.
- This unit supports DVI and HDMI resolutions up to 1920 x 1200 @ 60Hz, 3G-SDI, composite video, YC (S-Video), YUV / YPbPr, and HDCP on DVI / HDMI inputs and outputs.
- The DVI inputs and outputs on the unit provide the extra flexibility of DVI-U functionality, which provides the same connectivity as a DVI-I connection but with the additional provision of composite and YC video.
- The unit also supports NTSC, PAL, PAL-M, PAL-N, and SECAM and offers Noise Reduction for PAL, NTSC, and 1080i inputs. Its other features include AutoSet (automatic picture sizing of PC inputs), audio de-embed / embed for SDI and DVI, closed-caption de-embed / embed for CV / SDI, AFD and VP packet support for SDI, and variable image zoom to 10x and shrink to 10%.
- This converter is FCC, CE, UL, and RoHS compliant.
- 4:4:4 RGB / YUV sampling provides full bandwidth color, allowing precise keying.
- The unit's video inputs accommodate multiple video and computer signal formats and resolutions.
Superior Flexibility - The C2-2375A unit's output signal format flexibility assures that the native resolution of virtually any display can be matched. Because of the resolution calculator (included in the CORIOtools suite), even new resolutions can be added to the unit.
- Signal parameter adjustments can be made for each video input and are stored in individual non-volatile memories for retrieval once the unit's power has been removed.
- This Video Scaler unit employs pixel adaptive motion compensation to deinterlace fast moving images, and automatic 3:2 Pull-Down efficiently de-interlaces video from a 24 fps NTSC film.
- Simple Control
- The unit can be controlled in various ways. One option is to control it from the front panel using the keys on the front of the unit.
- It can also be controlled via RS-232 / 422 / 485 or via Ethernet using the CORIOtools suite. The CORIOtools suite is available for download from the AV Toolbox website and affords complete control of the unit.
Upgradeability - The C2-2375A unit also benefits from firmware upgradeability, thus reducing product obsolescence by allowing the installation of the latest version of firmware (sold separately).
- This not only applies to the software used to control the unit but also to the range of resolutions stored inside the unit, addition of new features, and upgrades to the heart of the image processing hardware, the CORIO 2 Scaling Engine (please visit the support page on the TV One website for more details).
