The Pro Tools S3 from Avid is a sixteen channel, EUCON-enabled, compact desktop control surface that offers a streamlined and versatile mixing solution for audio applications. While its small form factor makes it ideal for space-confined or on-the-go music and post mixing, it still provides extensive efficiency for faster turnarounds in project studios or large facilities alike.
The ergonomic design and full EUCON support allows for tightly integrated recording, editing, and mixing control with several choices of DAWs. Because the controller is application-aware, switching between different DAW sessions happens in seconds. Additionally, the surface can be customized for a specific task using up to twelve custom mixer layouts which can be recalled at any time.
And to provide further tight integration, the S3 features a built-in 4 x 6 interface, allowing for recording, mixing and monitoring sessions using just the surface and a laptop. Or audio can be monitored using the control surface in standalone mode with no additional audio interface required.
Sixteen channel strips, each with a touch-sensitive motorized fader and ten-segment signal level meter
Thirty-two touch sensitive push-button rotary encoders for panning, gain control, plug-in parameter adjustments, and more (sixteen channel control, sixteen assignable), each with a tricolor LED function indicator
Thirty-two high resolution OLED displays for viewing track names/numbers, detailed metering data (from mono to 5.1 surround), parameter names/values, current automation mode, and more
Keys for solo, mute, channel select, record/automation-enable on every channel
Touch strip provides easy access to transport controls
Can be used alongside Artist Transport if full jog/shuttle wheel controls are needed
Dozens of dedicated buttons and switches for navigation, automation, control assignment and software control
Built-in 4 x 6 AVB Core Audio interface includes two XLR microphone/line inputs, two 1/4" TRS line inputs, two XLR line outputs, two 1/4" TRS line outputs, and a stereo headphone output
