Product description Ensure equipment compatibility with Avinair's Spitfire Pro HDMI to HDMI Audio Converter. HDMI signals carry embedded audio and in order to use HDMI with equipment that doesn't support the HDMI standard, this converter will de-embed the HDMI audio, even 5.1 multi-channel audio, and convert it to SPDIF and analog for older audio receivers, mixers, and amplifiers. HDMI standards up to v1.3 are supported, so 1080p and 720p HD sources, like Blu-ray, can be passed through, as can SD sources, like DVD. The HDMI passthrough lets you connect your HDMI-compatible display or projector.
