Product description Move beyond just the wide and ultra-wide POV-style shots of the stock GoPro with the Ribcage AIR Mod Kit from Back-Bone Gear. This kit allows you to re-house a GoPro HERO4 Black or Silver (available separately) in a robust, quadcopter-friendly aluminum housing with interchangeable lens mount. The system is ready for use with M12, CS-Mount, and C-Mount lenses. With an accessory, available separately, it can also work with vintage Bolex and D-Mount movie camera lenses. The Ribcage AIR additionally enables the use of up to two on-camera filters of different sizes, such as NDs and custom wavelength-passing filters. For IR shooting, you can even remove the original IR cut filter.
The housing has been designed with the 3DR Solo quadcopter in mind and will work with the Solo 3-axis gimbal when using M12 lenses weighing less than 0.4 ounces.
Note: This product requires you to take apart and re-assemble your camera, which will void the manufacturer's warranty. We recommend that you view the installation video on Black-Bone's support page before you buy to make sure this is right for you. - Custom All-Aluminum Housing
- Re-house your GoPro HERO4 Silver or Black in this all-aluminum frame for enhanced durability. The housing features an interchangeable lens mount for using movie camera, CCTV, and specialty lenses as well as on-camera filters. Benefits of these lenses include manual focus control, depth-of-field control, macro shooting, optical zoom, and iris control. In the box there is a removable tripod mount and for further versatility it can be paired with the EXO Mini Mounting Bracket (available separately)
- Interchangeable Lens Design
- Frame the shot the way you visualized it with the aid of a plethora of lens choices. Out of the box, the Ribcage AIR housing works with M12 (S-Mount), CS-Mount, and C-Mount lenses as well as accessories for them. With suitable adapters (available separately), you can also fit the camera with Bolex and D-Mount lenses. An adjustable flange distance ensures sharp backfocus no matter what lens system you use
Note: Only M12 lenses weighing less than 0.4 ounces should be used with GoPro gimbals. CS- and C-Mount lens types are too heavy for GoPro based gimbals - Use Custom Filters
- You won't need filters for all your different lenses anymore, just for the camera. Now you can use ND, cold-mirror, NDVI, and other custom wavelength filters with your M12 lenses, or lenses that have no filter threads on the front. You can also remove the HERO4's IR cut filter for IR shooting or use in the dark with IR illumination. Up to two filters can be used at a time
Note: The IR cut filter must be in place when using your GoPro for the first time - Removable Mounting Rings
