Product description The Beachtek DXA-ALEXA Preamplifier and DXA-CINE Adapter Kit from includes the DXA-ALEXA and DXA-CINE adapters, a mounting bracket, 3.5mm to 3.5mm SC35 cable, a mounting foot with knurled wheel and attachment bolt, and an Allen key. The kit is designed for the ALEXA Mini camera, but is compatible with cameras like the RED DSMC2. Both preamps capture audio through their transformer-balanced inputs and avoid the need for external syncing. They offer up to 60 dB of gain and over 100 dB of dynamic range, as well as low-noise operation. The DXA-ALEXA provides dual gain controls which are detented for precise settings, as well as high/low switches for microphone matching, switchable 48V phantom power for condenser mics, and easy-to-read LED level indicators, which give you a good picture of your overall sound. For outputs, the DXA-ALEXA gives you a balanced 5-pin XLR output that can connect directly to 5-pin LEMO inputs. You can also route signal to other recorders by means of an unbalanced 3.5mm jack. Connections are provided for headphones and loopback monitoring as well. The Beachtek DXA-CINE is equipped with a plethora of inputs and outputs, including two mono 3.5mm inputs, one stereo 3.5mm input, one 5-pin balanced XLR output, and one unbalanced 3.5mm output. The inputs all provide plug-in power, and with multiple outputs on hand, you have options to feed either of the previously mentioned cameras. If your camera has a headphones output jack, you can loop it back into the device and monitor sound from that path to make doubly sure what you're hearing is what you're getting "on tape." - Beachtek DXA-ALEXA Low-Noise Preamplifier for ARRI ALEXA Mini Camera Designed primarily for the ALEXA Mini, but compatible with cameras such as the RED DSMC2, the Beachtek DXA-ALEXA is a low-noise preamplifier which connects directly to your camera, capturing audio through its transformer-balanced inputs and obviates the need for external syncing. The preamp itself sports a 100 dB dynamic range, and the construction of its inputs ensure galvanic isolation, as well as high common mode rejection in the face of common obstacles, such as electromagnetic interference. The DXA-ALEXA provides dual gain controls which are detented for precise settings, as well as high/low switches for microphone matching, switchable 48V phantom power for condenser mics, and easy-to-read LED level indicators which give you a good picture of your overall sound; green signifies a level between -40 and +16 dBu, yellow takes you all the way to +4, and red gives you an indication of overs.A carbon fiber chassis is relatively lightweight at under a pound, while weather-resistant top-panel switches ensure reliability in wide variety of conditions. For outputs, the DXA-ALEXA gives you a balanced 5-pin XLR output that can connect directly to 5-pin LEMO inputs. You can also route signal to other recorders by means of an unbalanced 3.5mm jack. Connections are provided for headphone and loopback monitoring as well. The preamp itself draws power from your existing rig by means of a 2-pin LEMO connection. Thanks to the preamp’s three threaded 1/4"-20 holes, you can mount this unit on the rails of third-party brackets, though a bracket has been included for mounting to camera cages, such as the ARRI ALEXA Mini camera cage.

- Beachtek DXA-CINE Mini-Plug Audio Adapter for Cinema Cameras Designed for cinema cameras, the Beachtek DXA-CINE is an active adapter with built-in preamplifiers that allow you to record high-quality audio directly to camera, no syncing necessary. These preamps provide 60 dB of gain and over 100 dB of dynamic range, as well as low-noise operation. You can use this adapter with cameras such as the RED DSMC2 or ARRI ALEXA Mini, alongside most self-powered filmic microphones, as well as wireless mic receivers.A plethora of inputs and outputs are provided, including two mono 3.5mm inputs, one stereo 3.5mm input, one 5-pin balanced XLR output, and one unbalanced 3.5mm output. The DXA-CINE’s aforementioned inputs all provide plug-in power, and with multiple outputs on hand, you have options to feed either of the previously mentioned cameras. If your particular camera has a headphone output jack, you can loop it back into the device and monitor sound from that path to make doubly sure what you’re hearing is what you’re getting “on tape.”While a high/low gain switch lets you dictate a basic starting point for level, the DXA-CINE’s detented trim controls ensure that you always make precise and consistent adjustments; this comes in handy when you need to match audio between takes performed hours or days apart (or on either side of a completely different setup/location—reshoots come to mind). Built-in green/yellow/red indicators give you a quick overview of your levels at any time. Dual-mono and stereo recording are both possible, while bracketing audio is also a cinch. Thus, you can always record a lower-level track when using a mono microphone.Flexible mounting options abound, including a built-in thumbscrew with a 1/4"-20 mounting bolt and a separate, included brass mounting foot for hot-shoe mounting. Multiple accessories can be attached to the DXA-CINE via three 1/4”-20 threaded inserts as well. For power, a 2-pin LEMO jack is on hand, and configurations are possible for D-tap.
