Product description Designed for cinema cameras, the Beachtek DXA-CINE is an active adapter with built-in preamplifiers that allow you to record high-quality audio directly to camera, no syncing necessary. These preamps provide 60 dB of gain and over 100 dB of dynamic range, as well as low-noise operation. You can use this adapter with cameras such as the RED DSMC2 or ARRI ALEXA Mini, alongside most self-powered filmic microphones, as well as wireless mic receivers.A plethora of inputs and outputs are provided, including two mono 3.5mm inputs, one stereo 3.5mm input, one 5-pin balanced XLR output, and one unbalanced 3.5mm output. The DXA-CINE’s aforementioned inputs all provide plug-in power, and with multiple outputs on hand, you have options to feed either of the previously mentioned cameras. If your particular camera has a headphone output jack, you can loop it back into the device and monitor sound from that path to make doubly sure what you’re hearing is what you’re getting “on tape.”While a high/low gain switch lets you dictate a basic starting point for level, the DXA-CINE’s detented trim controls ensure that you always make precise and consistent adjustments; this comes in handy when you need to match audio between takes performed hours or days apart (or on either side of a completely different setup/location—reshoots come to mind). Built-in green/yellow/red indicators give you a quick overview of your levels at any time. Dual-mono and stereo recording are both possible, while bracketing audio is also a cinch. Thus, you can always record a lower-level track when using a mono microphone.Flexible mounting options abound, including a built-in thumbscrew with a 1/4"-20 mounting bolt and a separate, included brass mounting foot for hot-shoe mounting. Multiple accessories can be attached to the DXA-CINE via three 1/4”-20 threaded inserts as well. For power, a 2-pin LEMO jack is on hand, and configurations are possible for D-tap. - Physical Features at a Glance
