Product description The 1x26 Polaris Gen I Night Vision Monocular from Bering Optics is a close to mid-range night vision device (NVD) that comes with flip-up headgear that enables hands-free viewing. This NVD is equipped with an integrated infrared illuminator capable of illuminating a subject at a distance of 27 yd. This configuration of the Polaris monocular has an unmagnified f/1.2 lens system that provides a wide angle of view and transmits adequate light for moonlit observations. The included flip-up headgear has adjustable straps for a custom fit and padding for added comfort. The flip-up headgear adapter makes hands-free use and flip-up storage quick and easy; a dovetail rail on the monocular is useful for dismounting the NVD for handheld viewing. The IR illuminator is controlled by a dedicated button that allows it to be activated without taking your eye off the visual scene.Additionally, this NVD is capable of focusing within ten inches. The Polaris monocular's first generation intensifier tube is protected against bright light damage by circuitry that deactivates the NVD when excessive light levels are detected. An IPX4-compliant, water-sealed housing makes the Polaris NVD ready to perform in light rain, high humidity, and even freezing temperatures.
