Product description The Gu Zheng from Best Services is a virtual recreation of a traditional Chinese instrument, with the original instrument having an important musical role in Chinese culture over its 2,000-year history. The modern Gu Zheng is a plucked zither type of instrument equipped with twenty-one strings and movable bridges. Basic playing styles include plucking at one end of the strings and pressing at the other to produce unique pitch ornamentations as well as tremolo effects.
Meticulously sampled by local Chinese music producers with a natural understanding of the instrument, this library was produced by Zhang Jian (China Conservatory of Music) and Ma Jing (ADSH). Its low-velocity samples allow for experiencing quiet details while a wide dynamic range also provides a punchy impact. - Sampled from a custom-designed Gu Zheng and recorded at the China Conservatory of Music using Direct Stream Digital Technology and five microphone positions
- Up to five velocity layers with multi-samples on every velocity layer
- Three different tempos of bend up/down etc.
- One-shot single notes on most layers, emulating a real performance
- Includes MIDI files and audio phrases
- 24-bit / 44.1 kHz sample playback
