Product description The Black Box iCOMPEL K Plus Series VESA Wi-Fi Interactive Kiosk Player features 40GB of onboard SSD storage, and is suitable for kiosk situations with standalone single touchscreen applications. It's ready-to-go right out-of-the-box with all necessary software already preinstalled. Software updates are free and there's also no annual license fees to worry about. The iCOMPEL incorporates Gigabit Ethernet and dual-band Wi-Fi network connectivity. Network connectivity allows you to easy to integrate the K Plus Series into your existing network so you can manage the device over a Web browser.
This linux-based device is designed for easy setup, and a built-in firewall helps to keep access limited to authorized users only. Plus, there's no need to install any third-party software or virus protection because the iCOMPEL uses HTTP and HTTPS security protocols. It also supports the LDAP authentication protocol and VPN capabilities for secure remote access. The integrated Intel Core i3 processor with 4GB of RAM works well for displaying optimized Flash and video content.
The iCOMPEL K Plus Series is equipped with HDMI and DVI-I outputs and supports up to Full HD 1920 x 1080 resolution. Six USB ports are onboard, which consists of two USB 2.0, two USB 3.0, and two USB sleep-and-charge interfaces. There's even an eSATA port for connecting external storage devices such as hard drive. - Simple Set-Up and Media Importing
- To get started, simply connect the iCOMPEL player to your network and to a display. After booting up, the iCOMPEL unit automatically obtains an IP address from the network. Fixed IP addresses can also be set. You can drag and dropp media from your computer desktop or a folder to the iCOMPEL media folders on the player's hard disk or use its intuitive interface to browse for files.
Because iCOMPEL supports many media formats, you can combine video with scrolling text, photos, Flash, and Web content. In addition to HTML, XML, and RSS media, it handles MPEG, AVI, QuickTime, PowerPoint, JPEG, GIF, TIFF, WAV and MP3 formats. Integrated Productivity tools enable you to deliver a high-impact display, whether it's locally stored media, such as promotional ads, or Web media, including XML and RSS feeds.
A built-in firewall keeps access limited to authorized users only, and there's no need to install any third-party software or virus protection. iCOMPEL uses HTTP and HTTPS security protocols, and supports the LDAP authentication protocol and VPN capabilities for secure remote access. - Layout Tools
- The included software comes with a number of free layouts, so you can display your choice of content in a professionally designed format within minutes. You also have the convenience of creating your own. The user-friendly layout and design tool allows you to create and modify layouts. Adjust, resize, position, and layer zones with a simple click and drag. All zones can be displayed with transparency.
Additionally, you can manually set pixel or percentage measurements to achieve pixel-accurate alignment or lock a movie zone to a desired aspect ratio (16:9, 5:4, or 4:3). Set up one or more screen layouts containing one or more zones for display. Every zone in the display layout has its own playlist, to which you can add multiple media files. Each playlist runs in a continuous loop per a preset schedule. Different layouts can be scheduled to play at different times of the day.
You can also add a video file stored on the internal disk, show text from an internal feed, and more. Furthermore, the RSS subscriber features enable you to automatically collect and display text crawl feeds from the Internet. - Additional Features
