Product description The Bluebird SL Solo Artist Recording Kit is a microphone, interface, and accessories bundle designed to provide high-resolution audio capture and reproduction for vocalists, producers, and musicians in home, project, and mobile studios. It includes a Blue Bluebird SL condenser microphone, a Universal Audio Arrow audio interface, a balanced XLR 3-pin mic cable, one pop filter, a tripod mic stand with fixed boom, and a clamp-on headphone holder. The Bluebird SL features a large-diaphragm, gold-sputtered capsule with a cardioid polar pattern. The Arrow audio interface connects via Thunderbolt 3, offers near-zero latency and resolution up to 24-bit/192 kHz, and includes DSP-powered Analog Classics plug-ins. Featuring a proprietary, hand-crafted capsule, the Blue Bluebird SL is a studio condenser microphone which builds upon its predecessor to offer a switchable 100 Hz high-pass filter and a -20 dB pad, thus ensuring a precise and nuanced sound. It utilizes a large, gold-sputtered Mylar diaphragm, replete with a sculpted rear backplate to emphasize resonances at higher frequencies; this creates the clarity of treble, smoothness of midrange, and richness of lows characteristic of Bluebird microphones, all while allowing sound sources to cut through a mix.
The Bluebird SL offers a cardioid polar pattern, giving you a frequency range of 20 Hz to 20 kHz—more than enough to record vocals, pianos, stringed instruments, and more. An SPL of 138 dB allows the microphone to capture a wide swath of dynamic material without damaging elements of the microphone. The Universal Audio Arrow is an interface designed for project-studio, home studio use, and on-the-road use. Connecting to your computer over Thunderbolt 3, the unit provides two combination XLR-1/4” connections for mic/line sources, as well as a 1/4" input specifically tailored for electric guitars and basses. Two Unison preamps are on hand, each of which lets you color the incoming sound through Universal Audio’s preeminent modeling plug-ins; so, if you want the sound of a Neve or an API on your guitar or vocal, you can purchase one of the company’s appropriate plug-ins and use them as you record, committing their sound to the resulting audio capture.The Arrow sports two 1/4" output connections for your monitors, as well as a dedicated headphone output. Whether you monitor through your speakers or through headphones, you’ll experience a near-zero latency performance, meaning you can play through UAD emulations without the processing interfering with your performance or timing.The interface, which is bus-powered over Thunderbolt, features a UAD-2 SOLO Core processor, giving you some dedicated DSP for operating the plug-ins.
