Product description Sharpen and enhance the detail in your footage with the Continuum Magic Sharp Premium Filter from Boris FX. This filter features sharpening individual channels such as luma, chroma, and RGB, as well as in highlights, mid-tones, and shadows. Magic Sharp features a built-in compare mode so you can view your before and after image side by side so you don't have to toggle on and off. The filter reduces noise and grain and also limits the halo effect. Mocha masking and tracking is built in, which makes it easy to pinpoint particular areas of your image to sharpen. The Magic Sharp filter is hardware-accelerated when using either NVIDIA or AMD video cards. - Integrated Compare Mode
- This mode enables you to view the filtered result beside the unfiltered source shot without having to toggle the filter on and off. It is a convenient way to fine-tune the filter.
- Noise Suppression Option
- For those times when you have a shot that requires detail contrast enhancement but suffers from heavy compression or has a lot of noise, the noise suppression control enables you to hold back the filter from increasing the noise or grain in the source clip while sharpening the image details.
- Detail Tuning Group
- Because Magic Sharp offers control over the level of sharpness being applied through four different-sized aperture settings, you can increase sharpness in fine details such as hair or the pores of human skin, reducing the level sharpness in larger areas such as flat surfaces.
- Channel Tuning Group
- Sometimes it is better to enhance detail in the luma channel but not the chroma channel. Or sometimes you may want to increase sharpness in the red and green channels but not in the blue channel. Magic Sharp facilitates this with the ability to control the amount of sharpness in any individual channel: luma, chroma, red, green, and blue.
- Range Tuning Group
- If you're working with a shot that has a lot of low-light noise you may want to use the controls in the range tuning group to suppress the filter from sharpening the shadow regions in the image, while increasing the level of sharpening in the highlights or mid-tones. Highlight, mid-tone, and shadow regions can be defined and controlled individually to customize the filter processing based on the filtered source.
- Reduce Grit Option
- This feature enables you to back off the image sharpening from highlight regions where the software has a difficult time discriminating between highlight details and noise, resulting in noise inadvertently being enhanced instead of suppressed or ignored.
- Integrated PixelChooser with Mocha
- The PixelChooser matte and masking system with integrated Mocha planar tracking and masking is included, making it possible to further isolate image sharpening to specific regions of the image. For instance, you might want to use Mocha masking and tracking to generate isolation masks to apply the Magic Sharp filter to a subject's eyes while protecting the skin.
