Product description Delivering a sound made popular by funk music and related styles, the BOSS SYB-5 Bass Synthesizer Pedal is a full-featured bass synth in a rugged compact pedal. The unit incorporates a dual-system bass synthesizer which creates sounds in two different ways, and eleven modes comprised of variations on four different waveforms give you a wide variety of synth tones, each of which can be modulated according to the envelope and LFO settings you apply. You can also plug in an optional expression pedal (sold separately) to control parameters while you actually play the bass, which adds an additional dimension of expression to your playing. Another useful feature of the SYB-5 is the Hold function. By depressing and holding the pedal while playing a note, you can hold the synth note as long as you hold the pedal down. Then you can solo or play additional parts over the synth tone accompaniment. In addition, the SYB-5 can be used with mono or stereo output. In the stereo output mode, the effect sound and direct sound can be output separately to two different amplifiers. An optional expression pedal (sold separately) can be connected to switch sounds while you're playing. Housed in the durable steel chassis BOSS is famous for, the SYB-5 operates with a single 9V battery or a PSA-series 9 VDC power supply. - Saw, Square, and Pulse Synth Waves
- Eleven different permutations of these waveforms give you a solid foundation of synth options to tweak
- Stereo Output
- Stereo output for plugging into multiple amps at once
- Sound Hold Function
- Keep the pedal depressed for a continuous synth note, as you jam on top of it
- Expression Pedal Input
- For increased control of the SYB-5, plug an optional expression pedal into the EXP jack. You can now modulate the synth tone with your foot as you jam for a more expressive playing experience
