The lens is a wide angle lens for shooting with full frame sensor cameras, and can be used on APS-C and 4/3 sized cameras. The lens features a maximum aperture of T1.5, which makes it a very fast lens that delivers a crisp image with low chromatic aberration across the imaging field. This is accomplished by using 13 optical elements in 12 groups with two aspherical elements. The lens also features multi-coated optics for good contrast, flare reduction and optical performance.
The internal focus design that keeps the front of the lens from rotating, which allows it to work with accessories and available lens mounted filters, such as a polarizer, while allowing you to focus as close as 10.2 inches from the image plane. Designed for shooting HD video, the lens features built-in iris and focus gears, allowing you to use available follow focus units and iris motors. A silent iris design allows you to pull aperture smoothly during a shot while shooting video. The tulip-shaped lens shade is removable and you can attach optional filters using the 77mm threaded front mount.
