It's not intended to be used as a solo lens. I too was mistaken in thinking that it was a telephoto lens. When used with a 100mm telephoto lens the reach becomes 400mm. Be wary of the front and rear thread mount size to match the telephoto lens. The rear size of this is 37mm.
The Kenko wide angle 37mm mount lens works well w/ the Smallrig phone cage.
