Product description Harness the power of contrast-enhancing polarization microscopy and conoscopy using the Bresser Science MPO 401 Microscope. This fine instrument incorporates polarization and conoscopy techniques to generate brilliant images of crystalline and anisotropic structures. To achieve this, the optical configuration gives you a set of four polarization-optimized (low-strain) plan achromatic DIN objectives, a bottom (transmitted) 20W halogen Kohler illumination, a polarizer/analyzer assembly (for polarization studies), an in-and-out Bertrand lens (for conoscopy), and a 360° rotating stage. An integral part of the illumination system are an Abbe condenser with an in-and-out auxiliary lens, an iris diaphragm, a polarizer, and a filter holder. The entire condenser assembly has a height adjustment, while the auxiliary condenser lens can be centered to regain alignment by way of external screws. To meet the requirements of polarization microscopy, the round metal stage rotates 360° and has a degree scale along the circumference that permits accurate positioning and achieving a proper orientation of a sample. It can be raised or lowered with the height-adjustment knob and centered via centering screws to ensure an on-axis rotation of your sample. For implementation of polarized light microscopy, the head contains a swinging in-and-out analyzer with graduations, and for conoscopy, it has a removable Bertrand lens and a slot for phase components like phase retarders, wave plates, and wedges.Other highlights of this tool are its coarse and fine focusing with 2µm minimum increments, a tension ring, and a stop knob. In order to take photos or videos of your discoveries, you will need to connect a camera to a third optical tube and switch from a viewing mode to a photo mode. Should you decide to upgrade this microscope to conduct phase contrast studies as well, it can be achieved with the optional Bresser Phase Contrast Set 5942750. - Optical Design
