Product description Bridging the gap between compact clip-on sunshades and multi-staged matte boxes, Bright Tangerine's Misfit Matte Box Kit is versatile while remaining lightweight. This kit is based on the carbon fiber Misfit core, which can hold two 4x5.65" filters and, with the twist of a knob, can be expanded to hold three filters. For holding filters, two trays are included, and they mount in the Misfit's fixed stages. Also included is a carbon fiber top flag for blocking any reflections. Once you're ready to mount the matte box to your lens, use the 143mm clamp to secure it to the front and you're ready to shoot. This is the core foundation of the Bright Tangerine Misfit Matte Box. It features the core frame, carbon fiber shade, and a two-stage/three-stage adjustable filter stage assembly. Ultra compact and lightweight, this 4 x 5.65" matte box can go from accepting two filters to accepting three filters in a few seconds, without adding a third stage.
It is compatible with Bright tangerine's 114 and 143mm lens-clamp rings, and it will cover lenses as wide as a 14mm Cooke S4 and RED Pro Zoom at 5K. The Misfit also supports an optional rod-mount swing-away bracket and arm assembly for more efficient lens swaps (swing away assembly not included.) - Reveal Stage
- Built into the two-stage filter tray is a reveal stage that expands to allow you to insert a third filter tray: no need to mount an additional filter stage.
- Top and Side Flag Mounts
- The Misfit incorporates built-in top and side flag mounts for available, but not included, top and side flags. The top mount also incorporates a mounting slot for the glide rail accessory (not included.)

The carbon fiber design is lightweight and matches the aesthetic of Bright Tangerine matte boxes. Use the integrated quick release attachment system for mounting on your Viv, Viv 5", or Misfit matte box. Integrated variable side wings expand from the sides of the top flag for additional light blocking. Knurled knobs allow you to set the exact position of the side wing and lock it in place. The top flag can also be used as a bottom flag for controlling glare from below your camera. UPC: 755899002733
- 4x5.65" Horizontal Filter Tray for Misfit This is a 4x5.65" horizontal Bright Tangerine Filter Tray for the Bright Tangerine Misfit matte box. The Misfit matte box, not included, can accept 4x5.65" filter trays. This filter tray allows you to use a 4x5.65" filter. UPC: 755899001996
- 143mm Clamp Lens Attachment for Misfit Matte Box This Bright Tangerine 143mm Clamp Lens Attachment mounts on your Misfit matte box and allows you to clamp it onto a lens with a 143mm outer diameter. The clamp is made from a combination of Carbon Fiber, hard anodized aluminum, and stainless steel. It also allows you to switch your Misfit matte box from a 2 filter stage to a 3 filter stage quickly by loosening two thrumbscrews.
You will need to use this setup with lenses that do not have a rotating front. If you wish to use this setup on a lens with a rotating front, an integrated tab enables you to mount your matte box on support rods. This requires accessories not included.
