Product description The Buffalo TeraStation 12TB 1400R 4-Bay NAS Server (4 x 3TB) contains four 3TB 3.5" SATA hard drives in a rackmountable form factor to provide a storage solution for a home office as well as in small business environments. It features a Gigabit Ethernet port along eleven NovaBACKUP licenses and multiple levels of RAID modes to deliver reliable network storage. It supports RAID 0, 1, 5, 6, 10, and JBOD. With a combination of a 1.2 GHz ARM processor along with 512MB of DDR3 memory, the 1400R runs on the Buffalo TeraStation NAS system and can handle multiple services simultaneously. For users outside the local network, you may set up the 1400R as a WebAccess or FTP server to share data remotely. Aside from these features, it offers hot-spare and hot-swap capabilities along with a USB 2.0 port and two USB 3.0 ports. General Features - TeraStation NAS System

Managing data, backups, and data sharing in a production environment or larger business is made easy with this NAS operating system.

- Buffalo provides eleven licenses of NovaBACKUP Buffalo Edition (one server and ten workstations), offering a complete, all-in-one data protection solution for PCs and Windows-based servers. In addition, you will receive TeraNavigator, NASNavigator 2, and Adobe Reader.

- This server's high capacity network storage is accessible to multiple platforms for seamless centralized storage and backup. You can create user and group profiles as well as control folder and file access to protect business-critical content and privacy. - Remote File Access
- The TeraStation 1400R offers multiple ways to remotely access and share your important data for enhanced collaboration and productivity. - Hot-Swap Hard Drives
- The hot-swap feature lets you replace a hard drive in the event of a failure without powering down the device. You can remove the defective drive and insert the new drive, allowing the data to be rebuilt while still being available to clients on the network with zero downtime.
- Hot-Spare Hard Drive
- The TeraStation 1400R allows for one of the hard drives in the array to be designated as a hot spare. In the event of a hard drive failure, the hot-spare hard drive will automatically rebuild with the information contained on the failed drive with seamless data accessibility to clients on the network.
